Brazilian midfielder Phillippe Coutinho has been the mainstay target for the Spanish club FC Barcelona. Over the past two transfer windows, the Spanish club have tried their level best in convincing the Merseyside club to let go of their star player.

However, the English club failed to budge and showed Barcelona their door when they came calling for the Brazilian. In this transfer window, however, it seems like the English club is interested in listening what the Catalan giants have to offer for their prized possession.

One man who is against Barcelona signing the midfielder is their former player and Real Madrid legend Ronaldo. The No.9, who spent a season at Camp Nou is against Barcelona’s interest for the midfielder.

Ronaldo talks about Coutinho’s move:

He, further said that he felt happier and connected at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu than Barcelona’s Camp Nou. According to him, the fans at the former treated him with more respect and showed him dignity while the latter mistreated him despite his status.

“I felt much more happy and more connected to Real Madrid, despite having lived a great year in Barcelona,” Ronaldo told Esporte Interativo. “In the end, my history with Barça was very bad, similar to the one Neymar had.

Further, he said that the club had an issue with their treatment of the Brazilian stars, be it Neymar, Romario, Ronaldinho, Dani Alves.

Barcelona’s prolonged history with Brazilians:

“Barcelona has always had issues with Brazilian players: Neymar, Romario, Ronaldinho and me,” he added

“We were all treated badly by the club in the end, despite all our contributions and dedication.” concluded the legendary striker

However, the decision has to be taken by the midfielder himself. As things stand right now, it looks like the Brazilian is more than interested in making his dream move to Barcelona come true.

Barcelona would be looking to accommodate his salary by selling the fringe players elsewhere making space for Coutinho.
