English all-rounder Andrew Flintoff is certainly one of the most impactful all-rounders to play the game of cricket. The pace-bowling all-rounder struggled with injuries throughout his career, but he still managed some great numbers under his belt.

Flintoff made his debut in 1998 in a test match against South Africa, but it is said that his actual career began in 2003 when he scored his first test century. After 2003, Flintoff started making his name in international cricket, and he had some great moments in the Ashes as well.

It is interesting that Flintoff gave his name in the IPL 2009 auction, and he was bought by Chennai Super Kings for a record price. Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen got picked for equal amounts, and they were the most expensive IPL players at that time.

Andrew Flintoff announced his professional retirement in 2010 as he was struggling a lot with his injuries, but he surprised everyone and made a comeback to cricket in 2014, where he played for Lancashire in the T20 Blast. He then also played in the Big Bash League but announced his 2nd retirement in 2015 after the end of BBL.

In 2012, Flintoff surprised everyone when he announced that he will step into the boxing ring and that too as a ‘heavyweight’. Flintoff was already a famous name amongst the fans, and the fight gained a lot of popularity as well. In his maiden fight, he proved his mettle and defeated American wrestler Richard Dawson.

After a close win of 39-38, Flintoff said that he will remain active in the sport, but he has not fought a single fight since then. So, Flintoff’s win record is 100% in the boxing ring. After his retirement, Flintoff has worked with a lot of media houses as an expert and has done commentary stints as well. A short series, “Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams” was released in July last year on BBC.
