David Warner Fox Cricket: Will David Warner join Fox Cricket commentary team after international retirement?
Australian opener David Warner has to be one of the most decorated players to ever play the game of cricket. The southpaw is currently playing in the 3rd test between Australia and South Africa at the Sydney Cricket Ground, where he failed to make an impact in the first innings.
The form of Warner in red-ball cricket has not been that great, but he scored an excellent double hundred at the MCG despite suffering from cramps to prove his toughness. Warner is still determined to represent Australia in all three formats of the game and his white-ball game has certainly been great.
The 2023 season will be a very busy one for Warner, and he can stay around 6 months in India. Australia will tour India next month, and Warner will play a very important part for the Australian side in that series. There have been a lot of calls about his retirement as well.

David Warner has already signed a commentary contract with Fox Cricket after the broadcaster secured the rights to broadcast the Australian home summer till 2031. Although, Warner has said that he will play for at least the next 12 months before turning into a full-time commentator.
Warner recently said that he wants to play the red-ball format till Ashes 2023, whereas he also aims to play the T20 World Cup in 2024 as well. He said that he will do part-time commentary whenever possible as the calendar of the Australian side looks quite packed as of now.
“Look people have already been talking about my retirement, but another 12 months to go and we’ll see how we go from there,” David Warner told Fox Cricket.
“Over these next 12 months I’ll probably do some part-time (commentary) stuff, wherever I’m needed or wherever I’m available I’ll help out as much as I can.”
Talking about his commentary stint, Warner said that he would try to learn from the experts sitting in the box, and would use his own cricketing brain to analyze the game. He jokingly said that he can make some headlines in the future as well.
“For me it’s just about calling the situation as it is, analyse the game and try and bring my cricketing brain up to the commentary box,” Warner added.
“Sitting alongside you experts that’s going to be fantastic. I’m sure you’ll help me out as an apprentice.”
Fox Cricket already have some star names like Adam Gilchrist, Isa Guha, Mike Hussey, Allan Border, Mark Waugh, Brett Lee, etc, and the addition of Warner can be brilliant for the fans.
