Lanka Premier League Squads: LPL 2023 Team Players List

The fourth edition of the Lanka Premier League is upon us and some of the biggest names in moden-day sports will mark their presence in the tournament. This is yet another T20 League in the plethora of franchise tournaments being played around the globe nowadays.

There are a total of five teams and each one of team has six overseas players. The overseas department is dominated by Pakistani players. Out of 30, 13 foreign players are from Pakistan itself. The other players are from Australia, South Africa, Afghanistan, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Ireland.

All the teams are led by Sri Lankan players only. Thisara Perera, Kusal Mendis, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Wanindu Hasaranga and Niroshan Dickwella are captains of their respective sides. Pakistan captain Babar Azam was made the skipper of Colombo Strikers but he decided against it. Since he will leave the season midway, he refused the leadership position.

It is to be noted that some of the players such as batter Chris Lynn, all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed, etc. are currently playing in Global T20 League Canada 2023. They will be joining their respective squads later. As is the case in the Indian Premier League, each team is allowed to play a maximum of four overseas players in a Playing XI.
