During the second match of the ongoing 14th season of the Indian Premier League between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals in Mumbai, Delhi Capitals opening batsman Prithvi Shaw continued his run-spree in the form of a seventh IPL half-century.
Coming on the back of scoring heavily in domestic cricket, Shaw didn’t require much time before finding the boundaries. Having hit one on the second delivery that he faced against Deepak Chahar, Shaw hit a six off the same bowler in the third over to get going.
With opening partner Shikhar Dhawan also dealing in boundaries against the new ball, there was no stopping Shaw as the right-hand batsman made life difficult for the opposition bowlers.

It was on the last delivery of the 10th over when Shaw hit Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Moeen Ali for a boundary to register a 27-ball half-century. In what was the 11th of his T20 career, Shaw scoring 72 (38) with the help of nine fours and three sixes was the best possible way to counterattack in a 189-run chase.
Having put together a 138-run opening partnership, Shaw made the most of playing at his home ground in the form of Wankhede Stadium.
Wasim Jaffer delighted by Prithvi Shaw’s hard-hitting half-century vs CSK
Former India batsman and current Punjab Kings batting coach Wasim Jaffer, who is keenly followed on social media platform Twitter for his witty tweets, appeared to be delighted after watching Shaw’s heroics.
It is worth mentioning that Jaffer had picked Shaw to be one of two players across both teams to watch out for tonight. The 43-year old had tweeted in the morning with respect to the same.
