Wankhede Stadium Average Score in T20 History

Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is set to host its first match of Indian Premier League 2023 tonight. Mumbai Indians will face Chennai Super Kings, which is also called the El-Classico of IPL. Both of them are two of the most-followed franchises in the competition.

Wankhede Stadium hosted a lot of matches last season as well, and this time seven home matches of Mumbai Indians will be played here. This stadium is famous for high-scoring encounters, and the red soil pitches here are perfect for that.

The five-time champions have lost their first match of the tournament, and they would want to take advantage of the home conditions. Skipper Rohit Sharma’s record at the Wankhede has been great, and as per his current form, he won’t get a better track to come back in form.

Wankhede Stadium Average Score in T20 History (Updated on April 15, 2023)

We have seen some high-scoring encounters in Wankhede Stadium as the pitch here at this ground is one of the best batting tracks in the country. Talking about T20Is, a total of eight matches have been played here, where the average first innings score has been 191 runs. Out of eight matches, five have been won by the chasing teams.

Apart from T20Is and IPL, a lot of domestic T20s have also been played here. The average first innings T20 score here is around 169 runs, which certainly does not depict the nature of the track. A score of 167 runs on any day is below par in Mumbai.

Wankhede Stadium IPL Average Score (Updated on April 15, 2023)

This stadium has hosted a total of 103 IPL matches so far, and the average first-innings score of 166.92 runs is quite surprising. It is almost similar to the average score in overall T20s. Out of 103, 55 matches have been won by the chasing teams.

26.70 are the average runs per wicket, whereas 8.38 are the average runs in an over. It is worth mentioning that 48.04% of the teams have won here despite losing the toss.
