You Need Only Need a Whopping 6-Figure Check to Live the Ultimate F1 Fantasy at the Monaco GP
Watching the Monaco GP from a private yacht remains the ultimate experience for racing fans. The race is considered one of the most prestigious fixtures of the F1 calendar.
However, the prices of watching the ‘crown jewel of F1’ remain exorbitantly high. And if you plan to watch the race from a yacht, it will cost you upwards of $100,000 in just parking charges.
How much does it cost to dock your yacht at Monaco on race weekend?
Considering that Monaco is the residence of some of the wealthiest people in the world. Hence, it’s not uncommon to spot the wealthiest people during this Monaco GP race weekend. Many of the ultra-rich watch the race from their yachts.
Port Hercules is the main deepwater port in the country where yachts are docked. From here, the section of the track from the Tunnel to the Rascasse is visible. However, all the 760 berths are booked months in advance.

The cheapest berths available will cost $3800 per night. However, there is no guarantee that you can watch the race from the spot. For that, you will need to book slots that will cost upwards of $110,000.
When you account for the food, drinks, alcohol, and partying involved, the total costs will be several thousands of dollars if not millions. No wonder only the uber-rich flock to the Mediterranean principality!
Kimi Raikkonen went straight to his yacht after retiring from the 2006 Monaco GP
From missing Michael Schumacher’s presentation to sleeping before a race, Kimi Raikkonen has had many “classic Kimi” moments. However, nothing tops the list but the driver, casually exiting the Monaco GP and heading straight to his yacht.
Raikkonen suffered a fiery exit on lap 50 of the 2006 Monaco GP. The heat shield of his McLaren caught fire causing him to retire his car at the exit of Portier. He was in 2nd place behind race leader Fernando Alonso.
However, instead of returning to the paddock, the Finn took a stroll around Monaco’s roads. A few moments late, the camera showed that the Iceman had returned to his private yacht parked in the harbour.
The Finn was hosting some of his mates on his boat named “One More Toy.” The driver had taken his shirt off and was seen drinking and enjoying the rest of the race with his pals. The perfect way to wind up after an exhausting weekend!
