Susie Wolff in line to take charge of Mercedes powered F1 team
Susie Wolff, the first female driver to drive a Formula 1 car during a Grand Prix weekend and former team principal at Ventura racing, is among the most prolific women in motorsports.
In 2022, she decided to part ways with Formula E and has yet to take a permanent role anywhere else. But her success in Formula E has surely raised her credibility as a team leader.
Thus, many believe she can also use her valuable skillset in an F1 team, in which men in leadership positions largely dominate. Her husband, Toto Wolff, currently heads Mercedes. But will she ever get her own stint?

Susie Wolff is rumoured to take charge of Williams
Recently, Williams announced that they had parted ways with Jost Capito. But they didn’t announce his replacement, with the new season approaching quickly.
Therefore, Wolff is reportedly in line to take the job at the Grove-based team. Roger Benoit, writing in the Swiss newspaper Blick is likely to capture the attention of Williams amidst their new search.
Will there be any conflict of interest? As Williams is an engine customer of Mercedes, and Wolff leads that. That can only be known later. But if she gets the job, Wolff will be the first woman to take up the job of F1 team principal since Claire Williams for the same team.

What lies ahead for Williams?
Capito’s departure from Williams was surely shocking as nobody expected it to happen, and there were no murmurs about it. However, the new bosses at Williams clearly had different ideas than what Capito was executing.
The team has a new driver on the grid, who will be the only rookie in F1 next year. Logan Sargeant has impressed the Williams’ leadership with his P4 finish in F2 in his first season in the feeder series.
Now, with him being eligible for the superlicense, he is ready to be the only American driver in F1 right now. Along with Alex Albon, the lineup seems promising, but they need better machinery to get things better.
