"They have made a big jump forward on the engine front"- Helmut Marko wary of Ferrari's redemption season

“They have made a big jump forward on the engine front”- Helmut Marko beware of Ferrari’s comeback season in Formula 1.

Ferrari’s struggle in 2020 gave teams like Red Bull, McLaren, Racing Point and Renault to elevate themselves in the constructors’ table and kept one big worry away from Mercedes.

But coming into 2021, Helmut Marko seems to be aware of Ferrari’s significant recovery and see a threat in them in 2021 and confident that they won’t be able to overtake them.

“I understand they have made a big jump forward on the engine front,” Marko said, according to Formula1news. “I think they had got over the shock of last season when they were 50bhp behind. They are motivated again now.

“The chances of them going for third place in the Constructors’ Championship are definitely there,” he added. This comes after Ferrari’s team principal Mattia Binotto publically revealed his aim for P3 in 2021.

Aston Martin not a threat

Meanwhile, Marko over here doesn’t see trouble in newly rebranded Aston Martin, despite the claims that they may receive a huge upgrade, making them overpass the Austrian side.

Marko also claimed that Sebastian Vettel is a veteran driver who might scoop a win for his new team if there is a bad race for Mercedes and Red Bull.

But Marko is not the only one to belive in this, Lance Stroll, the driver of Aston Martin and son of the team owner, has also projected his realistic goals.

He doesn’t expect his team to take strides into the next season and rather take a step ahead instead of challenging the top two next season itself.

For this, first Aston Martin has to defeat Ferrari and McLaren this year, who have also obviously progressed according to the available news reports. before challenging Red Bull-Mercedes, a possibility for 2022.
