The Battle Rifle category, aside from the SMGs, is currently the go-to weapon to use in the game. For that reason, we are going to look through the best Battle Rifle loadouts in Warzone 2 Season 5.

Warzone 2 quite recently got another patch where a lot of weapons got nerfed, including the TAQ V. But it still has a lot of popularity because its pick rate remains above 15%. However, considering the balance changes, the Cronen Squall seems to be making a comeback in the game.

That being said, Battle Rifles are always going to be a viable option in the game, no matter what the circumstances are. That is why we will take a look at the best Battle Rifle loadouts in the game. Without further ado, let us get into it.

Best Battle Rifle Loadouts in Warzone 2

Battle Rifles are more powerful than Assault Rifles but are much slower. For that reason, they are picked less. However, in the recent meta, the Battle Rifle pick rate has skyrocketed due to the TAQ-V and Cronen Squall. These two weapons have the characteristics of an AR, and if you build them up for mobility and damage, they can be lethal.

However, it is not all sunshine and rainbows, as there are a couple of Battle Rifles that are rarely picked despite being good weapons. In total, the game has five Battle Rifles, we will look through all of them in this list.

5. FTAC Recon

We start off with the FTAC Recon, which has an overall pick rate of  0.1% in the game. It is not popular among Battle Rifle users despite being a decent weapon. It has a good fire rate, recoil control, and mobility that does not drag it down. However, the reason why it comes in last is that there are simply better options out there for you to use if you prefer using Battle Rifles.

We are still going to give you a loadout that makes this weapon shine and embraces its positive traits. Check it out below.

Attachments

  • Optic: Your Preference
  • Underbarrel: Demo IMP-44 Grip
  • Stock: Assault-60 Stock Factory
  • Barrel: 419mm EXF Barrel
  • Ammunition: .458 High Velocity

We start off the loadout with an Optic of your preference. There is no set Optic that will let you thrive a little bit more than others, but this choice is dependent on your comfort. We typically go with the Cronen Mini Pro or the Aim OP V-4, but in this case, we recommend the VLK 4.0 Optic.

Along with that, we will also use the Demo IMP-44 Grip for the Underbarrel. It is going to increase the aiming idle stability, hip-fire accuracy, and recoil stabilization of the weapon, which results in better long-range potential.

The Assault-60 Stock Factory increases the weapon’s mobility by a lot. With it, you can increase the weapon’s ADS speed, crouch movement speed, sprint speed, and aim walking speed. This will help you better the weapon’s strafing ability.

Follow that up with the 419mm EXF Barrel for a boost in bullet velocity, damage range, and hip-fire accuracy of the weapon. It is one of the best attachments you can use, especially for the FTAC Recon, since it needs a much-needed boost in range and TTK.

Finish the loadout off with the .458 High Velocity. It increases bullet velocity, which lets us kill enemies faster over range.

4. SO-14

The SO-14, in the earlier seasons, was the go-to Battle Rifle to pick for professional players and Ranked demons alike due to its semi-automatic two to three-shot capabilities. But after the rise of the TAQ V, the weapon has vanished from the limelight. It has a pick rate of 0.6% in the current season. The SO-14 is not a bad weapon to use if you do not have the other Battle Rifles on you.

This loadout will build on its two-shot potential so that there is a fall-off as the range of the weapon increases.

  • Optic: Forge Tac Delta 4
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Magazine: 50-Round Drum
  • Barrel: 22″ Boremaster Barrel
  • Muzzle: Tempus GH50/ ZLR Talon 5

Starting off with the Forge Tac Delta 4 because it is a better Optic to use than most others when it comes to this Battle Rifle. It is one of the best Optics to use because it offers a 5.5x magnification which will help you aim at the longest of ranges. However, you will face a considerable amount of visual recoil.

The FTAC Ripper 56 is an ever-reliable Underbarrel when it comes to Assault and Battle Rifle loadouts in Warzone 2. It provides weapons with much-needed stability by increasing the hip fire accuracy, recoil stabilization, and aiming idle stability. All of these are important in long-range gunfights.

The 50-Round Drum will provide an abundance of bullets to face multiple enemies at the same time, while the 22” Boremaster Barrel increases the weapon’s hip-fire accuracy further, along with recoil control, damage range, and bullet velocity.

Finish the loadout off with either the Tempus GH50 or the ZLR Talon 5. Use the Tempus GH50 if you want more control. Use the ZLR Talong 5 if you want more bullet velocity, the choice is yours.

3. Lachmann 762

The Lachmann 762 emerged as one of the best weapons in the game in the past couple of seasons. Due to the recent Battle Rifle buffs, this weapon now possesses great fire rate and damage which helps it not be obsolete in the face of the Cronen Squall and TAQ V meta. With a 1.14% pick rate, this weapon is surviving in the meta.

It is not a bad weapon by any means. We will focus on its strength which is its damage and negate the weakness which is its handling and stability.

  • Optic: Aim OP-V4
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Magazine: 50-Round Drum
  • Muzzle: Tempus GH50
  • Barrel: 15.9″ Lachmann Rapp Barrel

The Aim OP-V4 is one of the most used Optics when it comes to automatic weapons. Most of us prefer using the Lachmann 762 in auto-fire mode. Although its recoil goes way up, there are certain ways to manage that, which we will look at later on.

For the underbarrel, we will choose the FTAC Ripper 56. The FTAC Ripper 56, as we stated above, improves the weapon’s stability which we will need when facing enemies at longer ranges. Moreover, we will also add the 50-Round Magazine because the automatic fire mode of the weapon eats ammo quite quickly.

For the last two attachments, we will rock the Tempus GH50, which will massively reduce the vertical recoil of the weapon and provide more control, and the 15.9” Lachmann Rapp Barrel. The 15.9” Lachmann Rapp Barrel increases the weapon’s hip-fire accuracy, damage range, recoil control, and bullet velocity. It is an all-in-one attachment which is a must-have on this weapon.

2. Cronen Squall

Moving right along to the two meta Battle Rifle kings of Warzone 2 at the present moment, the Cronen Squall has overtaken the TAQ V in terms of sheer stats, but its pick rate is still lower. Cronen Squall, in the earlier seasons, was the undisputed king’s weapon in Warzone 2, no other weapon came close. But after the Season 5 changes, the TAQ V took that crown.

However, in recent patches, the TAQ V received some nerfs, which has prompted players to go back to the Cronen Squall. Before the said patch, Cronen’s pick rate was 3.06%, and now it has gone back up to 9.76%.

  • Optic: Aim OP-V4 or Cronen Mini Pro
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Magazine: 50-Round Drum
  • Muzzle: SA Leveler 55
  • Barrel: HR6.8 Barrel

Equipping an Optic is the first step to any Battle Rifle loadout. You can use the Aim OP-V4 like the previous loadouts, or you can switch it up and go with the Cronen Mini Pro. The Optic preference is entirely up to you.

The FTAC Ripper 56 will help stabilize the weapon over longer ranges and will keep the visual recoil in check from the Optic as well. The 50-Round Drum is going to help take out multiple enemies at the same time. These extra shots can be insurance if an enemy springs you out of nowhere.

Now, the SA Leveler 55 is going to be crucial for this loadout as it will offer more horizontal and vertical recoil control. This will help keep the weapon on target in medium to long ranges where it is difficult to track enemies.

For the last attachment, we will equip the HR6.8 Barrel. It is the same as most other barrels we looked at on this list. It provides a myriad of stat boosts, such as an increase in hip-fire accuracy, damage range, recoil control, and bullet velocity. A crucial attachment to boost the weapon’s TTK.

1. TAQ V

The Lachmann 762 is still the undisputed king of all the Battle Rifles in Warzone 2. Despite the nerfs it received in the recent patches, its pick rate is still 16.37% which is higher than most other weapons in the game. It has a good fire rate, manageable recoil, and excellent damage.

Making a class around this weapon is easy as we need to stick to the fundamentals, like increasing the TTK and emphasizing control on recoil. The best thing about this weapon is that its natural, fully automatic state will allow you to harbor control over it quite easily as compared to other Battle Rifles making it a perfect beginner weapon.

  • Optic: Aim OP-V4
  • Underbarrel: FTAC Ripper 56
  • Magazine: 50-Round Drum
  • Ammunition: 7.62 High-Velocity Ammunition
  • Muzzle: Tempus GH50/ZLR Talon 5

We start off with the golden trio of the Aim OP-V4, the FTAC Ripper 56, and the 50-Round Drum Mag to make the weapon more useable and versatile over ranges. The Optic will help the visual recoil of the weapon, while the Underbarrel will keep it stable for long ranges.

The 50-Round Drum will be useful for taking on multiple enemies at the same time, especially in small Resurgence maps where the action is fast-paced. Now, the 7.62 High-Velocity Ammunition is solely to increase the bullet velocity of the weapon. The increased TTK will help consume less ammo and make your shots deadlier.

Finish off the loadout with either the Tempus GH50 or the ZLR Talon 5. It all depends on how you want the TAQ V to function. If you prefer more vertical recoil control over damage, then go with the Tempus, as it decreases vertical recoil. However, if you want more damage, range, and sound suppression as well, go with the ZLR Talon 5.

As for our preference, we would go with the latter as it provides more benefits and it will keep you off the radar as well.

Secondary

For the secondary, we would recommend going with something that is faster than the Battle Rifle. That is why it is a good idea to equip an SMG, but not just any SMG. We are going to pick the Lachmann Sub for this particular build. The Lachmann Sub is currently the best weapon in the game, and having it in the secondary slot will for this build is a must.

Here is a custom loadout for the Lachmann Sub for a quick build.

  • Barrel: L38 Falcon 226mm
  • Laser: VLK LZR 7mW
  • Magazine: 50-Round Drum
  • Rear Grip: Lachmann TCG-10
  • Ammunition: 9mm Overpressured +P

Perks and Equipment

For the perks and equipment, we recommend going with a survivability-based setup since your weapons will make up for the lack of passive buffs. Let us see what the ideal perk setup looks like.

  • Base Perk 1: Double Time
  • Base Perk 2: Overkill
  • Bonus Perk: Fast Hands
  • Ultimate Perk: High Alert
  • Lethal: Drill Charge
  • Tactical Equipment: Smoke Grenade

For the first perk, we go with Double Time to double our tactical sprint. Follow that up with Overkill which allows us to equip the Lachmann Sub. Fast Hands is going to not only help with the switching speed but also the reload speed and equipment use speed.

We finish off the perk setup with the High Alert Ultimate Perk. This perk helps us with survivability as it pulses our vision every time we are in an enemy’s Line of Sight. This can help us scramble to cover quickly. For the lethal, we use the Drill Charge to flush enemies out of corners and inside buildings. We also have the Smoke Grenade to get out of sticky situations.

Those are all the best Battle Rifle loadouts in Warzone 2. If you want more loadouts like these for the other weapon classes in the game, then click here.
