Popular Battle Royale, Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) could possibly be unbanned in the country after 10 months of being banned. The game was top-rated when launched and was prohibited under Section 69A of the IT Act. The BGMI unban date isn’t confirmed yet.

BGMI was first removed from both Google Play Store and Apple Store on July 28, 2023. After this, players were informed that the game was banned because data was being shared with China, which posed a threat to India.

A news report from News18 suggests that the game will likely come back with a few visible changes after being banned for having ties with China. Top officials from MeitY confirmed that the unban order would be issued soon.

Here are all the terms and conditions Krafton would have to follow to retain the game in the country after 90 days.

In addition to providing information about the unban, the report also listed out a few things Krafton will have to keep in mind going forward. News18 reported that senior officials in the Ministry of Home Affairs have approved the unban on the BR game. They will be keeping a close eye on what are the changes that are being brought into the game.

In case Krafton is able to meet the expectations of the Government of India, the unban would stay. Otherwise, the game will face a ban again, a senior officer had confirmed.

Here are all the changes that the government expects from the game:

  • Players should not be able to play the game 24×7 and a limit should be imposed on the playing hours.
  • Blood should not appear in the game (its color should be changed)
  • Players should not get a chance to choose the kill effect, it should be changed as a default setting.

Players have been anticipating the game’s return for a while now, and the unban has also been teased a lot. However, since the leaks are getting stronger, the huge BGMI community is looking at the government for a positive response.
