God of War: Ragnarok

The godly father and son duo of Kratos and Atreus are possibly returning to the PlayStation devices. The latest rumor suggests a DLC expansion is under development for God of War Ragnarok.

God of War Ragnarok is the sixth major installment to the famous PlayStation exclusive series by Santa Monica Studio. It follows the adventures of Kratos and Atreus in the Norse Mythology. This 2022-released action-adventure was as liked as the past installments.

After completing the main story campaign, fans have been eagerly waiting for some more God of War action. The main reason for their eagerness was how the story concluded, hinting there was more to unravel in the Norse. It seems fans might be getting what they wanted with a rumored DLC.

A God of War Ragnarok DLC is in development

Recently, the famous video game leaker The Snitch tweeted that a DLC for God of War Ragnarok is deep in development. Apparently, the developers have already completed 60 percent of the expansion content and might release it next year.

There is still no official announcement for this additional content. But The Snitch is known for being reliable about his information, as the leaker has proved many times in the past. Also, the leaks suggest that Santa Monica Studio is currently calling it “The Project Giant.”

Two latest job listings by the American developer grabbed more attention towards this rumor. They are looking for a Combat Designer and a Senior Combat Designer who knows about the combat mechanics used in God of War (2018) and Ragnarok.

What could be the rumored expansion about?

God of War fans might be brainstorming about what this rumored upcoming DLC could be about. But it is not hard to guess, as its codename is a significant hint towards the plot. This additional content would begin from where the main story ended in Ragnarok.

The 2022-released title concluded with the father-son duo of Kratos and Atreus going their separate paths. Given this rumored DLC’s codename is “The Project Giant,” it could be a spin-off story that follows Kratos’s son on his quest to find giants.

Fans already experienced playing as Atreus in Ragnarok. So, a DLC revolving around Kratos’s son makes a lot of sense. It could act like a spin-off game for this series. Moreover, Sony has lately released spin-offs for their many exclusives, including Marvel’s Spider-Man.

Fans should take these rumors with a grain of salt, as leaks can be wrong sometimes. For now, they can only wait for the official announcement from Sony or Santa Monica Studio. Until then, find out everything about Assassin’s Creed Mirage revealed at Gamescon 2023 by clicking here.
