The release of Hogwarts Legacy on PS4 and Xbox One has been pushed back to April 4. The game is also delayed for Nintendo Switch and will release on July 25. As far as the game is concerned, it will go live on February 10, 2023, for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.

The official Twitter account for the game posted an update but did not state the reason for the delay.

Hogwarts Legacy to release in April 2023 on Nintendo Switch and in July 2023 for Xbox One and PS4

Hogwarts Legacy saw a series of delays since the first glimpse of the game came out in 2018. The trailer announcement came out in 2020 and finally, the release date announcement came out. The Twitter announcement stated:

“The team is looking forward to bringing you the game and we want to deliver the best possible game experience across all platforms.”

It was earlier anticipated that the game will release during the 2022 holiday season. An August 2022 announcement pushed back the date to 2023. During that announcement, it was mentioned that the release date for Switch will be declared later. However, this news was disheartening for Xbox One and PS4 users.

Announcement from developers

While there might be a delay for the last generation console players, the assurance that the game is finally arriving is a sigh of relief. The developers have not disclosed the reason for the delay. They have reiterated that they are working to bring out “the best possible experience to the entire community, no matter which platform they choose.”

They also revealed the game will go gold when it releases for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5.
