Honkai Star Rail Guide: How to Complete the In the Sweltering Morning Sun Mission

The In the Sweltering Morning Sun is the third Trailblaze Mission set in Honkai Star Rail. It consists of nine subquests that you need to complete in order to finish the main quest. 

Most major missions in Honkai Star Rail have additional subquests attached to them. The Trailblaze Mission Set contains most of these types of missions with additional subquests. Previously we looked at the In the Withering Wintry Night missions which had 13 different subquests.

The ‘In the Sweltering Morning Sun’ mission has nine of those subquests. We will be discussing the rewards for each of those subquests in addition to a brief walkthrough for this mission in Honkai Star Rail.

How to Complete the ‘In the Sweltering Morning Sun’ Mission in Honkai Star Rail

Cleanse In The Darkness Outside

At the beginning of the mission, you will be asked to return to the surface and ask Sampo and Seele for help in taking down Cocolia. This is a relatively straightforward Subquest in which you do not need much assistance. Just follow the map and go through the cutscenes to finish the quest as soon as you head out with Serval.

Unattainable Idol

After you start off the mission with Serval, you will need to infiltrate the Silvermane Guard Restricted Zone to rescue Bronya. Follow the objective and stay on track and eventually, you will come to crossroads with Captain Dunn. You will need to fight and defeat him in order to advance in this quest.

A point to note is that Captain Dunn is vulnerable to Ice, Physical, and Quantum damage attacks, so spam those and you shall be fine. The two soldiers on his side are vulnerable to Wind and Quantum attacks.

Young Guard

Now the real fight begins. Once you defeat the Captain, head deeper inside the Zone, operate the Gear Bridge Terminal, and eventually you will come face to face with an Automaton Grizzly who is weak to Fire, Lightning, and Ice. Make sure you have at least one affinity on hand out of these.

Now, once you proceed towards the frontline, you will confront Geopard. The objective is to convince him to join your side. After a brief altercation, you will need to fight him. He is weak to Physical, Imaginary, and Lightning damage but immune to Ice attacks so ensure that you have the required affinities on hand. The two soldiers with him are vulnerable to Quantum and Wind attacks.

Soldiers Stay Silent

Geopard will join your mission after his defeat and a bit of convincing. The Silvermane Guards will accompany you as well till Everwinter Hill. The next battle will be a three-part one with the Ice and Fire creatures you faced from Jarilo-VI. The Imaginary Weaver is something you should be wary of since it does Imaginary Area of Effect damage. The unit is vulnerable to Physical, Lightning, and Quantum Effects.

The Stars are Cold Toys

Now you will need to explore the Corridor of Fading Echoes. You will see a brief Echo which gives some insight into Cocolia’s goal. After the echo, you will need to unlock the gate by triggering all the mechanisms marked for you on the map as you keep on solving them.

After that, you will encounter a puzzle that you will need to solve to make your way across the bridge. Across the bridge, you will see a last hub waiting for you which you need to trigger to unlock the main gate. Return to the starting point, and go through the gate by triggering the mechanism. After the cutscene, you will see a monster named the Guardian Shadow.

This is a level 36 creature and it is vulnerable to Physical, Wind, and Quantum attacks. Once you defeat the shadow, you will come in contact with another robot that needs repair. Repair it and then follow along. Defeat all the enemies on the path and eventually you will come face to face with Cocolia’s Echo.

The Echo is Level 36 and is vulnerable to Fire, Lightning, and Quantum attacks. She also summons two icicles, one is vulnerable to Fire and Lightning while the other is weak to Fire and Quantum damage.

Roads to The Past Have Long Been Closed

This will be the boss fight against Cocolia. Once you reach the Everwinter Hill you will confront her. This will also be a three-part fight with multiple waves of enemies. In the first wave, you will face Frostpawn and Shadewalkers. In the second you will be fighting against Decaying Shadows and Imaginary Weavers. The former is weak against Fire, Lightning, and Wind damage while the latter is weak to Physical, Lightning, and Quantum damage.

Now, when you face Cocolia you will go through a cutscene that unlocks Fire Utilities by going through the Path of Preservation. Now, after you get the fire utilities, Taunt to get Cocolia to deal damage to you while the others do damage to her. Use Fire, Lightning, and Quantum abilities to defeat her.

In the Dangerous Muddy Swamp

Now you can access the surface from the Underworld. You will need to share the good news with the inhabitants, to do this find Hook, who will gather all the inhabitants for you. You can find her on the right side of the stairs playing hide and seek. After that, you need to meet Clara and Svarog in the Robot Settlement who will announce the successful completion of the mission to safeguard the underworld.

No Time for Me, My Friend

You will need to proceed to the Guardian Inauguration Ceremony for Bronya. It will be located in the Everwinter Monument. Once the speech concludes, have a final conversation with her and then say your goodbyes as the mission concludes.

Silent Galaxy

Say goodbye to the friends you made at the Jarilo-VI as you make your way back to the Astral Express. There you will have a conversation with Himeko and Welt to determine your next objective and the future of Jarilo-VI. This is a straightforward mission and the end of the In the Sweltering Morning Sun mission.

Rewards for Completing this Quest: 150 Trailblaze EXP, 4 Adventure Log, 1 “A Trap With No Return,” 1 “Wildfire,” 8,000 Credits
