JUST IN: Kevin Durant 100% certain of being at Golden State next season
Kevin Durant has upgraded this Golden State Warriors side after his trade by Oklahoma City Thunder, however, KD hasn’t penned a new deal as of now and thus is a potential free agent in the off-season.
But Warriors fans have nothing to worry as Durant is confident of penning down a new deal and is almost a 100% certain of returning to GSW next season.
KD has been going ahead with one-year deals in the last two years, as it apparently made more sense, but now wants to have a more stable future at Golden State and is looking ahead to a longer deal with the Warriors.
Here are the excerpts from his interview with a reporter:
“Oh, you want to start this up?” Durant asked the reporter
Reporter: “Is this as foregone a conclusion as the rest of the league seems to believe it to be?”
“I’m not even thinking about that,” Durant said.
“I’m here. I’m here. I ain’t even thought about it.” he added.
Reporter: “To make it simpler: Is it 100 percent, in your mind, that you will be back with the Warriors next season?”
“Yeah,” Durant said. “Yeah.” […]
“The last two years, it made sense to do the one-year deal. I’m sure here soon I’ll want to sign a long-term deal just to feel stable.” KD said.
The Warriors are looking strong this season with KD having dictated scoring records in the early part of the regular season and Curry now come into his own as the business part of the season is just round the corner.
The Warriors would be hoping to bring their A-game to the floor with NBA playoffs set to start from next month.
