Kawhi Leonard and Pat Beverley

Kawhi Leonard has always been notorious with his on and off court antics and tonight he had the perfect response to Pat Beverley being mic’d up.

Pat Beverley has been known to stir up a few laughs amongst his teammates. However, no one comes close to Kawhi Leonard, when he decides to have some fun.

The duo were at it tonight during Clippers vs Nuggets, when a mic’d up Pat Beverley made his way to Kawhi, asking him to tell the world why he was the best player in the NBA.

Kawhi Leonard’s hilarious response to Pat Bev

With Pat Bev initially stating that he was mic’d up, Kawhi was quick to ignore his question and turn away from him with a sly smile.

“I got the wire on. Let the people know why Kawhi the best player in the NBA. They don’t believe me” Beverley said.

Kawhi, who isn’t one for too much fan/media interaction, in his typical self, shied away from the conversation, inducing bouts of laughter from his Clippers teammate.

Pat Bev though didn’t stop there, as he went on to discuss about Kawhi with his coaching staff. The coach too decided to have a little fun, leaning into Beverley and announcing on the mic that there was no better defender in the league.

Kawhi Leonard, Pat Beverley and the Clippers

The Clippers have locked in their 2nd seed for the playoffs and boast of incredible depth in their roster. Kawhi Leonard has been leading the team brilliantly and has received immense support from Paul George, Lou Williams, Pat Bev and the rest of the reserves.

Beverley has put forth some important defensive contributions all through the season and something similar would be expected of him during the playoffs.

As far as Kawhi is concerned, the Clippers have given him with the best possible platform to get another NBA title under his belt. The reigning finals MVP is getting into his groove in the Bubble and one could expect those clutch performances from him whenever needed.

But, is he really the best player in the league? Perhaps we’ll find that in the weeks to come when he takes on the likes of LeBron James, James Harden and Giannis Antetokounmpo.
