KL Rahul and James Neesham involved in amusing Twitter banter

KL Rahul and James Neesham: The Indian wicket-keeper batsman and the Kiwi all-rounder are entertaining their fans off the field as well.

During the third ODI of the ongoing India’s tour of New Zealand in Mount Maunganui, India wicket-keeper batsman Lokesh Rahul and New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham were involved in a casual altercation.

It all happened after the last delivery of the 20th over of the Indian innings when Rahul hit a Neesham delivery to mid-on to run a quick single. Rahul, who was in a hurry to complete the run, had to run some extra distance around Neesham who was providing back up for the throw.

A brief conversation in the middle between the two players was followed by an amusing banter on social media platform Twitter. Neesham, who will be playing under Rahul in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League, suggested his captain to save some runs for the tournament.

In eight white-ball outings in New Zealand, Rahul has scored 428 runs at an average of 71.33 and a strike rate of 125.88 including one century and three half-centuries.

Neesham, who is known for his hilarious tweets, then posted a screenshot of his confrontation with Rahul, although in a light-heated manner. Neesham’s tweet was followed by an acknowledging reply from Rahul and Kings XI Punjab.
