Lars Sullivan: WWE Fines Lars Sullivan $100,000 for insensitive remarks in the past | WWE News

Lars Sullivan: WWE Fines Lars Sullivan $100,000 for insensitive remarks in the past. He will also undergo sensitivity training.

WWE Superstar Lars Sullivan had recently come under the scanner for his controversial remarks in the past. He had made the comments on a bodybuilding forum. A reddit user made a compilation of his comments and screenshots. They included his outrageous comments on racism, religion and even rape. He even commented on wrestling personalities such as AJ Styles, Dave Meltzer and even Vince McMahon.

The compilation led to an outrage in the wrestling community. WWE Wrestler Big E confirmed that other wrestlers were aware of the comments. He said that Lars would have to bear the albatross of being a bigot.

Lars issued a statement regarding the controversy shortly to Wrestling Inc.

He said: “There is no excuse for the inappropriate remarks that I made years ago. They do not reflect my personal beliefs nor who I am today, and I apologize to anyone I offended.”

A Reddit User bought the issue to the attention of one of WWE’s Sponsors who responded by saying that had engaged the WWE to “discuss this situation and seek to understand what actions they will take to swiftly address this matter”.

On Tuesday, Fightful reported that the WWE have told them that they’ve punished Sullivan.

Here’s what WWE said:

“WWE supports a culture of inclusion regardless of gender, race, religion or sexual orientation, and we are committed to embracing all individuals as demonstrated by the diversity of our employees, performers and fans worldwide.

Dylan Miley (aka Lars Sullivan) will be fined $100,000 and is required to complete sensitivity training for offensive commentary uncovered from his past. WWE will also facilitate meetings for Dylan with community organizations to foster further discussion around the power of social media and the impact of your words.”

Lars Sullivan made his debut on the Raw after Mania. He looked set for a huge push. That doesn’t likely anymore for a long time in the foreseeable future. Lars is yet to comment on the matter. However, it looks like the burly wrestler may not have much to say this time.

Like most combat sports enthusiasts, his passion for watching people fight began with WWE when he witnessed a young Brock Lesnar massacre Hulk Hogan back in 2002. This very passion soon branched out to boxing and mixed martial arts. Over the years he fell in love with the theatrics that preceded the bell and the poetic carnage that followed after. Each bruise a story to tell, each wound a song of struggle, his greatest desire is to be there to witness it all. His favorite wrestler is Shawn Michaels and he believes that GSP is the greatest to ever step foot inside the octagon. Apart from wrestling, he is also fond of poetry and music.
