Adam Silver Shockingly Fines Draymond Green $25,000 For Slightly Curt Comments Made to a Fan During Game vs Mavericks

Draymond Green has never been known as one of the calmer NBA players of this generation. And why would he? How else would he be the sparkplug of the Warriors? How else would he get in opposing players’ heads during games, making them play irrationally?

And more importantly than anything else, how else could he play to his highest level?

No, he needs to be a bit riled up to do it.

However, it appears that sometimes the man can take it too far. And when he did do so against the Mavericks, Adam Silver and the NBA took some serious exception to it.

Draymond Green tells Mavericks fan to ‘shut up’, as his team shoots a free throw

Shooting free throws in an arena filled to the brim can be hard on its own. However, when most of the people in said arena are vying for you to miss, and humiliatingly, if possible, things can get far more difficult.

But, that’s all part of the game, right? Nothing like a little good-natured booing, insulting the players at the charity stripe, and on some occasions, shouting racial slurs… right?

Yes, suffice it to say, things can go too far sometimes, as they apparently did for Draymond Green during the Warriors’ game vs the Mavericks.

Now, of course, Draymond Green didn’t say anything that’s too insulting to the fan. In fact, even those sitting next to the fan seemed to have found it a bit humorous.

However, should Green have still held back a little?

Did Draymond Green go too far?

The unfortunate thing about this clip is, it doesn’t show what the fan said to incite such a reaction out of Draymond Green. So, it’s impossible to fully be able to tell if this reaction was justified or not.

However, given that the man has mostly been on his best behavior this season, we believe he is justified in receiving the benefit of the doubt on this one.

At the end of the day, the only reason Adam Silver and the NBA have fined him so much money is due to the infamous Malice at the Palace incident.

The NBA definitely doesn’t need another one of those.
