“Do What You Came Here to Do!”: Ja Morant’s $7,600,000 Suspension Draws Unexpected Advice From Chris Brown

Chris Brown recently appeared on the latest episode of Club Shay Shay. Speaking to Shannon Sharpe, the two discussed a variety of different things. From his career in music to the current state of the sports landscape. One of their topics surrounded Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant. The 24-year-old guard has had some problems in recent times that led to a 25-game suspension. Having had a troubled past himself, Brown shared some advice from his own life, hoping to help the youngster out.

Referred to as the “King of R&B” by many, Brown was born in Tappahannock, Virginia. However, he did also spend some time in New York, growing up in the streets of Harlem. When he was seven, his parents decided to file for divorce, and soon after, he, his sister, and his mother moved in with his stepfather, who lived in a trailer park. A man, he described as one who beat his mother regularly. Life wasn’t easy for Brown, to say the least. But, his experiences have allowed him to learn and grow, becoming the man he is today.

Chris Brown gives Grizzlies star Ja Morant some advice in light of his 25-game suspension

The Ja Morant situation is one that has puzzled everyone. His decision to continuously repeat the same mistakes has baffled many, including R&B sensation Chris Brown. Talking to Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay, Brown was asked what advice he would give Ja. Initially confused as to what to tell the 24-year-old, C Breezy reflected on his own life.

Using the analogy of a mirror, he stated that this situation seems to resemble something out of his own life. Having faced many problems himself in the past, he knows exactly what it’s like to be shown in a negative light. But, he pointed out that Ja, is still young and that everybody learns, even if they keep making the same mistakes.

That being said, he made it clear that he is in no position to tell him how to “write his story”. Nevertheless, if he could advise him, he would tell him to just focus on what he came to the NBA to do.

“I mean I don’t know what I would say, ’cause I also look at my life and I kinda look at it as a mirror with certain things. Firstly when it comes to like being shown in a certain negative spotlight. I feel like everybody learns man, he’s young, but I feel like people make mistakes…sometimes we make continuous mistakes. But, I feel like I can’t tell him how to write his story or find his path, I would just say, ‘Just do what you came here to do!'”

Brown himself has had to re-evaluate his life choices time and time again. However, one thing that has helped him stay “straight edge” in recent years is his family. With the added responsibility, Brown has been focused on taking care and providing for his loved ones. Thus, allowing him to become the star he is today.

Dominique Wilkins advises Ja to get rid of his entourage saying they’re not worth $70,000,000

Chris Brown isn’t the only one who has words of wisdom for Ja Morant. NBA Legend, Dominique Wilkins, who knows Ja and his father well, has advised the Memphis Grizzlies star to get rid of his entourage. Additionally, he suggested that the high-flyer does not need people to validate him, and it sure isn’t worth sacrificing $70,000,000 for them.

At the end of the day, only Ja can decide how he wants his life as an NBA superstar to go from here on out. Simply put, the NBA world can only hope he makes the right choices.
