“Donald Trump is more admired in USA than LeBron James?”: Lakers superstar placed shockingly low on list of top 10 beloved Americans
A recent poll taken in the United States suggests that Donald Trump is more admired in the US than LeBron James.
LeBron James is perhaps the most influential athletes on our generation. He’s right up there with the likes of Tiger Woods, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Serena Williams. A general trend that is noticed when it comes to sporting behemoths like LeBron James, is that they possess a large amount of influence over their following.
A perfect example would another recent poll that took place in the United States. This poll yielded results concerning citizens and their willingness to take the COVID-19 vaccine. Surprisingly, nearly 40% of African Americans said they would take the vaccine if James took it on live television.
This is just a snippet of what James’s influence is like in the US. However, when it comes to admiration, LeBron James seems to be on the lower end of that top 10 list.
Donald Trump edges LeBron James and Barack Obama for ‘most admired’ title
According to a poll done by Gallup, Donald Trump is America’s most admired man of 2020. He beat the likes of the Pope, Barack Obama, Bill Gates, and Los Angeles Lakers superstar, LeBron James, to snag this title.
America’s most admired men 2020:
1. Donald Trump
2. Barack Obama
3. Joe Biden
4. Dr. Fauci
5. Pope Francis
6. Elon Musk
7. Bernie Sanders
8. Bill Gates
9. LeBron James
10. Dalai Lama-Gallup

This is quite perplexing as Donald Trump has received nothing but criticism ever since the pandemic began. For starters, he recognised the presence of COVID-19 in the US about 3 weeks too late, after brushing it off for months.
He also gave citizens a measly stimulus package of $1200 to compensate for jobs being lost. Though it might not be reasonable to admire a sporting figure more than a world leader, there is still a debate that could ensue about the results of this poll.
With the rest of the top 10 comprising of politicians, tech moguls, and religious figure heads, LeBron James definitely does stick out the most.
