Dwyane Wade came up against Stephen Curry a total of 11 times throughout his NBA career. And he might not have enjoyed facing off against him, even once. Widely considered to be the best shooter of all time, Curry is one of the most difficult players to defend against. His ability to shoot from all corners of the court means that defenders are always struggling to predict his next move. The same appeared to be true for Dwyane Wade.

Speaking on TNT back in April 2021, Wade had once claimed that he felt a bit of “fear” while guarding Stephen Curry. The former Miami Heat and Chicago Bulls player claimed that the fear was based on a defender’s inability to predict which side Curry would shoot from.
Dwyane Wade once claimed he felt “fear” while guarding Stephen Curry
Stephen Curry is easily one of the best, if not the best shooter of all time. Perhaps the best player in the history of the Golden State Warriors, Curry has already done enough to preserve his NBA legacy.
Apart from his superior shooting, Stephen Curry has always been capable of scoring and creating chances in a variety of ways. He is also a hugely talented passer and is capable of hurting the best teams on his day, even if his shooting is off. Explaining his strengths, Wade said that he felt a bit of fear while guarding Curry:
“Fear. You have a little fear. Not like you’re scared of the guy, but just not knowing what he’s going to do. When a guy’s coming up, and obviously he has an amazing handle, but when a guy can shoot from anywhere on the floor, when he shoots going left and going right, and then when he gives the ball up, he’s even more deadly with his cuts, with his screening, with his ability to come off screens, he’s just impossible to guard.”
Steph Curry will not be happy with the way the season ended for the Warriors
The defending champions Golden State Warriors proved to be easy opponents for the Los Angeles Lakers. Stephen Curry was not at his efficient best, and the likes of Klay Thompson and Draymond Green also appeared to be out of touch for large parts of the series.
Curry maintained an impressive return when it comes to numbers, averaging more than 27 points per game against the Lakers. However, he was not given the luxury of straightforward shots which took a huge toll on his conversion rate.
With the Warriors’ other shooters also not coming up with the goods, Curry found himself being marked out of games for large stretches. The Warriors committed the same kind of mistakes that they had been guilty of the entire season. The team responded with far too many turnovers at crucial moments which made it impossible to maintain momentum. Steph was not happy with the abrupt conclusion to their season.
