Egged on By $90,000,000 Contract, LeBron James’ Former Teammate Wants Former NBA Players Playing Overseas to Stop Disrespecting the League

In recent times, many former NBA players have been taking their talents overseas. Whether it’s Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, or Africa, they are now everywhere. However, this has led to an interesting trend. Some of these former players have taken it upon themselves to, for some reason, disrespect the NBA, if Kyle Kuzma is to be believed. Well, LeBron James‘ former teammate, who just signed a $90,000,000 contract, is having none of it and took to X (Formerly Twitter) to call them out.

Several former NBA players have found themselves plying their trade abroad. Having passed their prime in the United States, the only plausible option for them was to move overseas to keep playing basketball. The likes of Kemba Walker, Ben McLemore, Willie Cauley-Stein, and until recently, Dwight Howard all played overseas. Even Jabari Parker, a former second-overall pick, is playing in Barcelona. And, it is after reading his recent comments that Kuz decided to speak his mind.

Having just made the move to Barcelona, former NBA star Jabari Parker has taken a shot at the league. Justifying his move to Spain, Parker blasted the NBA for being watered down. He criticized the league for being divided into two parts, and has in turn gained a lot of publicity with these comments.

He called out the league for not being able to accommodate players like Dwight Howard, John Wall, and DeMarcus Cousins. Players he believes are future Hall of Famers. All because one half of the league is looking to win games and the other half is looking to get into the NBA Draft.

This did not sit well with one of LeBron James’s former teammates. Now playing for the Washington Wizards, Kyle Kuzma recently signed a $90,000,000 deal with the franchise. Taking to X(Formerly Twitter), Kuz decided to call out all players playing overseas for taking shots at the league, claiming the “trend” needs to stop.

Those are certainly bold statements, both on Parker’s and Kuzma’s part. Either way, it will be intriguing to see just how this conversation progresses or if it even gets the attention it deserves.

Dwight Howard left for Taiwan after being disrespected by the Los Angeles Lakers

Jabari Parker isn’t the only player who has a problem with the NBA. Another one of LeBron James’ former teammates, Dwight Howard also took his talents overseas. Until recently, Howard was in Taiwan playing for the Taoyuan Leopards. However, he made the decision only after he felt disrespected by the Los Angeles Lakers.

A Lakers reunion was on the cards for Howard, but the team wasn’t interested in giving him a multi-year deal. So, having received little to no traction on that end, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year decided to move elsewhere.

That being said, Dwight has left Taiwan behind after just one year. And, rumors are swirling that he may return to the NBA. One can only imagine what he might have to say about the league after spending a season abroad.
