Blake Griffin reacts to people calling the Brooklyn team unfair after the addition of himself and LaMarcus Aldridge: “For the last couple years, all I heard is how bad I am”
With six All-Stars on the Brooklyn squad, people have been calling the team unfair. Blake Griffin does not seem to agree at all.
Last season, with them acquiring Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, it was just the start of their super team rebuild. Earlier this past year, the Nets practically gave away their entire bench for the acquisition of former MVP James Harden.
Since then, the team saw the success they hoped for with the trio of Harden, Irving, and Durant. As if that wasn’t enough for Brooklyn to win their maiden title, they went on to add Blake Griffin and later LaMarcus Aldridge.
In response to the reactions, Blake stated how the last couple of years he heard he was bad, and now all of a sudden people are calling the deal unfair. He added:
“It’s kind of funny to me because for the last couple years all I’ve heard is how bad I am. You sign with this team and everybody’s like, ‘That’s not fair! People say whatever they want. I don’t put a whole lot of value in other people’s opinions.”
“I trust the people I trust. If I don’t go to you for advice, then I’m probably not going to take your criticism. So I have that circle of people and I have that group of people that I trust, real basketball people. That’s who I listen to. I just think it’s funny. I guess you could say it’s amusing.”

“It’s not like we’ve done something illegal”: Steve Nash comes to defend Blake Griffin and co
Brooklyn Nets head coach Steve Nash immediately expressed his thoughts on what people have been telling Griffin. He simply stated by saying that they haven’t done anything illegal:
“It’s not like we did anything illegal. So I don’t know what we’re supposed to do, not try to add to our roster, and just sit pat? That’s the idea of this league is to try to put together the best team you can, and that doesn’t guarantee you anything.”
“I don’t know what we’re supposed to do: Stand pat and not try to improve?”

With these bold moves, it is clear what the Nets’ intentions are this season. It is obviously to win that championship. Irrespective of what people say, the team looks deadly and clearly are the favourites to win the title.
