Having Minted $40,608,000 in the NBA, Charles Barkley Told Kelce Brothers How His ‘Favorite Sport’ Fever Lasted for ONLY One Day
6ft 6’ Charles Barkley, who played two positions that are meant to be players far bigger than him, is easily one of the greatest players of all time. A tremendous scorer and rebounder of the basketball, Barkley could do anything on the court if he put his mind to it. The Sixers and Suns legend is also a part of the NBA 75 and NBA 50 teams, which are a few of the greatest honors imaginable for an NBA player. However, in his recent appearance on ‘The New Heights’ podcast of the Kelce brothers, he revealed his favorite sport wasn’t even basketball.
Despite being one of the greatest to ever do it, the former power forward made just $40,608,000 throughout his 16-year NBA career. Had he pursued his favorite sport for more than one day, that number could have been a lot bigger.
Charles Barkley reveals Football was his favorite sport
Charles Barkley recently made an appearance on the New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce. The tight end of the Kansas City Chiefs revealed how he once came to watch an NBA game and was star-struck when, Sir Charles, who was a household name while growing up, came to meet him.
That conversation took Barkley to reveal his favorite sport was actually football. But hilarious enough, he played it for just a single day.
“Football is my favorite sport. I played one day and realized y’all were freaking nuts,” said Charles Barkley, sending the Kelce brothers into a frenzy. Watch it on the New Height’s official YouTube channel.
Chuck revealed how he didn’t even play the sport for the second time after trying it out at college because his coach put him on the defensive line and wanted him to play there. Good thing he didn’t. Otherwise, we may never have had the pleasure of watching him on NBA on TNT.
Shaquille O’Neal once gave Chuck a flashback of his one day on the football field
Barkley is one of the integral parts of the most entertaining sports talk show with Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith, and Ernie Johnson.
While talking basketball is their primary job, they often find themselves doing other things to entertain fans which they surely wouldn’t risk if they were not on TV.
On one such occasion, the 7-foot tall Shaq, weighing anywhere around 370–400 pounds, ran and tackled 60-year-old Barkley which must have given him the flashback of why he made the decision to choose basketball over football.
