“I Didn’t Know Shaquille O’Neal”: Dwight Howard Claims His Superman Nickname Came From a $30 Million Worth Rapper
Shaquille O’Neal is prominent for his benevolent nature, which has witnessed him laud and shower praise on numerous NBA stars. O’Neal has entrenched himself as an influential figure in the NBA post-retirement thanks to his charming personality.
However make no mistake, ‘Diesel’ has been rewarded such a prestigious standing within the league due to his illustrious basketball career which defined him as the most dominant force to step onto the hardwood floors.
Those were the days when O’Neal demonstrated his ruthless and aggressive nature. So one must bear in mind, that the environment ‘Shaq’ has had to adapt to in his current position as an analyst.
Yet, it is a tedious task to ask of Shaq that he remain rational in his judgments. And just like every living being, his emotions often do tend to get the best of him.
Just enquire with Dwight, who has been injected into a feud with the four-time NBA champion, through no fault of his own.
Dwight Howard didn’t know Shaquille O’Neal, his ‘Superman’ roots from rapper Soulja Boy
Howard was recently a guest on the famed show ‘Cold as Balls’ which features renowned comedian Kevin Hart. The former Orlando Magic protagonist explained his thoughts on Shaq.
Howard revealed that his nickname comes from $30 million worth rapper, Soulja Boy.
“I never had an issue with Shaq..To be honest I really didn’t know a lot about Shaq as a young kid..My superman nickname, that came from Soulja Boy, I used to like do the dance and so I think the confusion is he thought that I was trying to take his nickname and be like him and stuff like that.”
Shaq has been critical of Howard’s move to Taiwan in the most disrespectful way. Most people in the States believe that the world revolves around the US. While one can make an argument for the fact that with relation to certain subjects that might be factual, it doesn’t apply to every facet.
The verity remains that while Taiwan is certainly not the best destination for the most competitive sports, the region and its people must be respected.
The inception of the feud between the Supermen
For someone who highly commends the current generation of athletes, O’Neal has for some particular reason despised former 3x DPOY Dwight Howard persistently.
The first instance occurred during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 2020 championship triumph. While Howard was in a state of euphoria, ‘Diesel’ proceeded to humiliate his achievement with a barrage of comments headed his way.

With Howard stating that he would be open to the idea of having a chat with the former NBA ‘MVP’, it would be ideal to see the pair hash their differences out. Or will they need a cage?
