“I’m Tired of His Lying A**”: NBA Fans Lash at LeBron James for Claiming to Be a ‘Pass-First’ While Chasing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s Record
LeBron James is one of a kind. His uniqueness lies in his ability to perform almost at the same athletic level as when he was in his early 20s. This ability has kept the 6ft 9″ Lakers superstar going even at 38. In his 20th season, he’s dominating the league. Though the Lakers have had a terrible winning record, individually, LeBron has given it his all.
Another fascinating aspect of LBJ’s current season is that he is now awfully close to Kareem Abdul Jabbar’s record. Trailing just by 484 points, it’s highly likely that a healthy LeBron James will break the Lakers’ legend’s record this season itself.
He recently sat down with ESPN for a one-on-one interview. Snippets of that interview have been making the rounds on the internet. In it, LeBron James can be seen addressing the chase to the top of the scoring pyramid. NBA fans, however, were especially annoyed with a comment James made.
“The scoring record was never ever even thought of in my head because I’ve always been a pass-first guy. I’ve always loved seeing the success of my teammates.”

NBA fans accuse LeBron James of being a liar
During the interview, LeBron began to talk about the impact and meaning of becoming the all-time scoring leader. LeBron then claimed the title was something he had never thought of because he is a ‘pass-first’ guy. Many fans believe LeBron is lying about this too.
I turned that shit off so fast. I’m tired of his lying ass 😭😭 https://t.co/Cr7Bkn23KB

He keep running with this pass first thing 😂😂 https://t.co/1ljWl5MK8j

The ‘pass first’ thing is laughable. He’s got the second most shot attempts, and shot misses, in NBA history. He’s averaged more field goal attempts per game (19.7) than guys like Kobe, Bird, Durant and Kareem.

When will LeBron overtake Kareem?
LeBron James is just 484 points behind Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. The 4x NBA Champion is currently averaging 29 points per game. If he can maintain the same averages, he should be able to break Kareem’s record in 17 more games.
This is promising. Watching LeBron pass Kareem would be one of the most monumental moments in his career. The kid from Akron is almost at the top.
