Is Anthony Davis Playing Tonight Vs The Spurs? Lakers Availability Report On ‘The Brow’ In The Midst Of His Foot Injury
Anthony Davis has been out for the Los Angeles Lakers since their December 16th win over the Denver Nuggets. He would sustain a right foot injury and not return in the second half of that game. Since then, the purple and gold have gone 11-12 in his absence following their loss to the Los Angeles Clippers last night.
LeBron James has been shouldering much of the offensive burden this year without AD. Davis isn’t the only Laker out as both Lonnie Waler IV (knee) and Austin Reaves (hamstring) have been sidelined due to injury as well, two players who contribute heavily on both ends of the floor.
As the Lakeshow look to add wins to their 22-26 record in the loaded Western Conference, they seem to be getting their All-NBA center back as early as tonight.
Will Anthony Davis play tonight?
While Anthony Davis is listed as ‘OUT’ on the injury report, Dave Mcmenamin reports that he will be available to play tonight against the San Antonio Spurs. He will be on a 20-24 minutes restriction following this fractured bone spur and stress injury to his right foot.
With the Lakers having added Rui Hachimura into the mix, it’ll be interesting to see how well he meshes with Anthony Davis out on the floor. LeBron James’s ideal position on defense is the 4 and that is the same position Rui plays. Moving him to the 5 would be difficult as well due to AD’s monstrous play at that position.
Not to mention the fact that Thomas Bryant has come into his own at the 5 as well so playing that position will not work out for Rui.
AD, after finally accepting his fate as a center, put up incredible statlines this season. 37 and 12; 55 and 17; 37 and 21; 38 and 16, are just a few of the stellar games he’s had this year so having him back will be huge for a mid season Playoff push for the purple and gold.
