Is Damian Lillard playing tonight vs 76ers? Portland Trail Blazers release injury report ahead of game against Joel Embiid’s Sixers
Damian Lillard’s playing status is up in the air as he is present on the injury report ahead of the Blazer’s game against the 76ers.
With Damian Lillard’s running mates CJ McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic out for the foreseeable future, the 30 year old has a lot on his plate. The Blazers have had their ups and downs in their games without the two stars. This is mostly due to Damian Lillard putting up MVP-like performances night in and night out.
After suffering a disheartening blowout loss to Giannis and the Milwaukee Bucks, Dame and the Blazers bounced back against the Washington Wizards. The Wizards were fresh off a victory over the Brooklyn Nets but were brought back down to Earth by Damian Lillard’s 32 point night. Dame capped his night off with a step back from nearly 40 feet.
During this bout however, Dame seems to have suffered an abdominal strain. This strain is what necessitates his presence on the injury report for tonight.
Damian Lillard is listed as questionable for tonight
The Blazers have a date booked with the top dogs out East in the Philadelphia 76ers. Joel Embiid continues to prove his case for regular season MVP as he leads the Sixers to the top seed int he Eastern Conference.
Damian Lillard is currently listed as questionable on the injury report which mathematically would mean there there’s a 50-50 chance of him hitting the hardwood tonight.
This will likely be a game-time decision and depend on how he feels moments before the game commences. The Blazers have been adequate without Dame on the floor. They have Anfernee Simons and Rodney Hood running the floor for the most part when Dame rests.
If Lillard does in fact miss this game, this would be his first time sitting out in the 2020-21 NBA season. The Blazers need all the firepower they can get while facing the 76ers as they are a much fiercer opponent when compared to the bottom of the barrel Washington Wizards.
