Is Kevin Durant Playing Tonight Vs. The Jazz? Nets Superstar’s Injury Update Following MCL Sprain
Kevin Durant has been nothing short of spectacular ever since returning from his Achilles injury that sidelined him during and after the 2019 NBA Finals. His career averages have actually increased ever since his injury, meaning the ‘Slim Reaper’ has been a better version of himself after having torn his Achilles.
The Brooklyn Nets, despite having dealt with drama surrounding KD not wanting to be on the team in the summer and then Kyrie Irving’s antisemitism row, have been a premier team in the NBA. They currently boast a 27-17 record and the only reason for those recent losses have been because of Durant’s absence.
The Nets, prior to KD’s injury, boasted an 18-2 record, which would mark the best 20 game stretch in Nets history. However, in a game against the Miami Heat, Jimmy Butler would land on Durant’s right knee close to the basket, leading to him exiting the game and never returning.
Will Kevin Durant play tonight against the Utah Jazz?
Kevin Durant has had knee issues with the Nets before. Just like last time, he has sprained his MCL yet again and is being listed as ‘OUT’ for a minimum of one month. This update has not changed going into the Brooklyn Nets’ game against the Utah Jazz tonight.
The Nets have not won a single game since Durant got sidelined and will look to claim their first win of this stretch against a Utah Jazz team that is starting to resemble the one that was predicted to tank prior to the season.
Kyrie Irving has been particularly off during these 4 games for the Nets (he only played against OKC, Boston, and Phoenix), averaging 23 points on 38% shooting from the field. As their sole, elite offensive creator, Irving would need to take himself to the next level, as he did in last night’s 4th quarter, for the Nets to win games without KD.
