“Kevin Durant would have never joined the Warriors if LeBron James hadn’t joined the Miami Heat”: Chris Broussard justifies the Lakers MVP being the ‘most hated NBA player’

Chris Broussard says LeBron James is the most hated player in America because he caused the rise of superteams within the NBA.

A poll was recently shared online which revealed who were the most hated NBA players within the United States uses geotagged data from Twitter. This let fans know that LeBron James was the top player in the league that lived in the American citizens’ heads rent free, as the kids would say nowadays.

This essentially means people were most vocal about hating LeBron James on the internet. Funnily enough the next three guys who were the most prominent on this list were the three Brooklyn Nets superstars; Kyrie Irving, James Harden, and Kevin Durant.

However, when it comes to those guys, the states that severely dislike them have a reason to dislike them. For example, Kyrie Irving is predominantly hated in the Massachusetts are and this of course alludes to what he did with his time with the Boston Celtics.

Kevin Durant is disliked in California for leaving Golden State and Harden isn’t Texas’s favorite due to the nature with which he forced his way out of Houston.

LeBron James on the other hand, is hated on by people in the state of Montana, North and South Dakota, and Idaho. It’s clear what the 4x champ did to these non-NBA states but Chris Broussard seems to have an answer.

Chris Broussard explains why he believes LeBron James is the most hated player in America.

Chris Broussard recently sat down with Skip Bayless and Shannon Sharpe to talk about the aforementioned poll and why he believes LeBron James its atop the ‘most hated’ throne with no one really close to challenging him.

The ‘LeBron James started the superteam revolution’ narrative has been stale for years now. Superteams were prevalent way before James joined forces with D-Wade and Chris Bosh down in South Beach. Their Eastern Conference foils, the Boston Celtics, had formed a legitimate superteam in 2008, 2 years prior to the Heat one.

Going back a decade further, many people forget the Houston Rockets assembled a team with Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, and Clyde Drexler in the late 90s. Though they were not exactly in their prime, a team of this caliber no matter the year in which they played is a superteam.

It is quite far-fetched that NBA fans would hold a grudge against LeBron James for making ‘the Decision’ in 2021, 10+ years after he left Cleveland for Miami. There isn’t really a clear cut answer as to why James is the most hated other than the fact that he’s been dominating the league and hating on greatness is easy.
