“Learnt about my Finals opponents”: Michael Jordan ‘spied’ on Charles Barkley, Karl Malone and John Stockton when with the Dream Team at Barcelona’s 1992 Olympics
Michael Jordan reveals his mischievous motivation behind joining the Dream Team for the Olympics back in 1992.
Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest of all time, no doubt about it. But he is also famous for being one of the most notoriously competitive players of all time.
Those who have watched ‘the Last Dance’ already know about the great lengths the players used to go to, in order to bury his opposition in the ground. And for those who haven’t seen this masterpiece, His Airness was not beyond creating imaginary scenarios to have a killer’s mentality.
With that all in mind, it becomes plausible that Jordan had ulterior motives behind meeting any other top NBA player during his time. And well, the Bulls legend revealed just why he decided to join the Dream Team in 1992. And it’s not for the reason you think.

No, not in a creepy way.
Michael Jordan was the kind of player who would probably do anything that wasn’t dirty, to get a leg up on his opposition. And while he was the best player in the NBA from very early on his career, Jordan absolutely had stiff competition every year.
In order to get a leg up on his competition, knowing their strengths and weaknesses would have been a very good start. Who knows, it could have been the difference between winning and losing at the highest level. And well, it seems that Michael Jordan was of this exact opinion.
