Warriors superfan Flight caught a ton of flak for implying that LeBron James had recruited Russell Westbrook as an answer to the Warriors.

There are few NBA players who’ve polarized NBA fans as much as King James. The 36-year-old from Akron, Ohio, has had the expectations of the NBA world ever since high school. This amount of pressure is par for the course for him – the price to pay for his greatness.
The Lakers came up significantly short in their 2021 NBA playoffs, succumbing to eventual finalists Phoenix. Losing Anthony Davis to injury proved to be a fatal blow to their chances at a title defense.

Much of their supporting cast caught flak for underperforming in this year’s playoffs. The Lakers’ roster currently sports a vastly different look from last year. A number of key rotation members have been traded or not renewed.
They traded Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Montrezl Harrell to Washington to acquire Russell Westbrook. Dennis Schroder and Alex Caruso have been allowed to walk as free agents, as was Andre Drummond.
“LeBron James is so afraid of Stephen Curry, he assembled Team USA 2.0”: Flight
NBA Twitter has been in meltdown mode over the last few days. A number of landscape-altering roster changes have already taken place across the league, but the Westbrook trade has dominated the airwaves.
It’s like half the fans are extremely skeptical of the fit between 3 MVP-caliber talents. The other half, meanwhile, is already declaring them as the next year’s champions. Flight seems to be someone in the former camp.

The reactions to this post were abrasive, to put it mildly. People jumped on the chance to point out a Warriors fan’s hypocrisy in complaining about superteams.
