Metta World Peace opens up about Brooklyn’s chances of winning the title this year: ‘The Nets so deadly, even my Lakers gonna have a rough time’
Former NBA champion Metta World Peace First Things First to speak about how deadly James Harden and the Nets are looking this season.
Until two seasons back, the Brooklyn Nets were a team struggling to make the playoffs. All of a sudden, the Nets is a star-studded team with title aspirations this year.
At the start of the season, with a healthy Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant, Brooklyn was definitely legit title-contenders. During the season, with additions of superstars like James Harden and Blake Griffin, they have visibly gone all in to win the championship this season. As some analysts like to say, this season’s title is almost like Brooklyn’s championship to lose.
Metta World Peace mentioned that they are so deadly that even his former team, Los Angeles Lakers will have a difficult time containing them. He added:
“I mean, you could win a title with two of them. Just pick any two. You pick three of them, and it’s going to be a rough time for the opponents, even my Lakers. You can rest him (Durant). You got two MVP caliber players (Irving and Harden) that can carry the load.”
Will the Nets will have enough time to mesh into true championship contenders when KD returns?
“You can win a title with 2 of them — pick any 2 — Kyrie, Harden, KD. You have 3 of them it’s going to be a rough time for the opponents, even my Lakers.” — @MettaWorld37 pic.twitter.com/93HWYBw62b

‘They don’t need defense when they have such deadly offense’: Metta World Peace
The trio of Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving, is probably the greatest scoring trio ever. All these three players can score the basketball at will, whenever the team requires them to score.
Initially, defense was playing a major role in hurting their games. Although, on ‘First Things First’ analyst Brandon Marshall thinks that the Nets don’t need defense when their offence is so deadly. They added:
“My only point with defense, it doesn’t matter. Defense doesn’t matter for this team. It’s too much offence. You got three guys averaging 25 points or more. The way they’re doing this, you have to respect it. James Harden came in and made them a contender.”
Acquiring Blake Griffin, the Nets have surely filled in their Power Forward. With the strong starting five Brooklyn has, they have surely solidified their chances of winning the championship this season. It is only about time when all of their stars come together and dominate teams on the court.
