“The Raiders”: Deion Sanders’ Fan Damian Lillard Confesses Davante Adams More Precious Than Loyalty to His NFL Team
Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard is known to be a huge fan of Deion Sanders. Lillard posted a clip on Instagram recently talking about the Colorado Buffaloes’ start to the season under “Coach Prime.” Still, primarily a Davante Adams fan, Lillard revealed during his recent appearance on the BACKONFIGG podcast, Episode 108, that his loyalty lay with the Las Vegas Raiders. However, the 33-year-old confessed that he was a bigger fan of Adams than the team itself.
Lillard claimed during the podcast that he “could not take it anymore,” considering the way in which the Raiders’ recent seasons have gone. The point guard said that while he had been a Raiders fan his entire life, Davante Adams had become more precious to him than the team itself. Lillard said that his loyalties will end up where Adams moves to next.
Damian Lillard reveals Las Vegas as his favorite NFL team
Lillard is an avid NFL fan and regularly watches games. He has made multiple posts about the NFL, including a recent story about Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders.
Sanders has helped the Buffaloes kick off the season in prime fashion, leading to attention from quite a few NBA celebrities. Regardless, Lillard’s loyalties still lie with the Las Vegas Raiders, as he revealed in the interview.
Initially speaking about his lack of interest in Fantasy Football, Lillard apparently helped a friend make their fantasy team. He ended up taking Davante Adams as his first pick, and claimed the following about the Raiders:
“The Raiders. I am always going to be a Raiders fan but I feel like at this point in my fandom, I am going wherever Devante Adams go. If we with the Raiders, I am staying with the Raiders, but at this point, I can’t take it no more.”
Hence, while Lillard has been a Raiders fan all his life, his loyalties might be narrow for the time being. He claimed that he would end up supporting whichever team the 30-year-old wide receiver ends up playing for.
Damian Lillard wanted Davante Adams to leave after the loss to the Saints
According to USA Today, Lillard was one of the thousands of dejected fans after the Raiders lost 24-0 to the Saints. This was followed by a 27-20 loss against the Jaguars.
The second defeat, in particular, came despite the Raiders initially rushing to a 17-0 lead. After the game, Lillard claimed that he would not be angry if multiple players decided to leave.

This obviously included his favorite player Davante Adams. The Trail Blazers superstar had similar feelings for the likes of Maxx Crosby, and Darren Waller.
