“Warriors should trade Draymond Green for Ben Simmons”: Chris Broussard outlandishly suggests the Sixers forgo the Damian Lillard sweepstakes for the former DPOY
Chris Broussard says that the Sixers should trade Ben Simmons for Draymond Green instead of continuing to pursue Blazers star, Damian Lillard.
The Philadelphia 76ers and Ben Simmons, according to several reports, have burned whatever bridges that connected them to one another. The former has tried to get in touch with the DPOY candidate but Ben has reportedly blocked off any form of contact with the organization, only speaking to them through his agent.
The Golden State Warriors on the other hand, have a much more optimistic season up ahead as the possibility of Klay Thompson returning to the floor has the Bay Area as excited as they were 2 years ago. With Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green all reuniting on NBA hardwood, many fans and analysts alike have them in the upper echelon of teams in the West.
Despite the Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid experiment failing on several occasions, the Sixers are still looking to compete for a title. According to Chris Broussard, the best way that both GSW and Philly can contend is by pulling off a rather, strange swap of star forwards.
Chris Broussard wants the Warriors to trade Draymond Green for Ben Simmons.
The Golden State Warriors have found a lot of success over the past decade with a short roll, playmaking, switchable defender in Draymond Green. Their small ball lineup with him at the 5 was crucial in them winning games against bigger, less mobile teams. With Iguodala back, looks like they’re ready to run back the 2015 title squad.
However, Chris Broussard suggests that the Dubs break apart this trio and trade Draymond Green away for Ben Simmons from the 76ers.
“I think Ben is a younger, better version of Draymond Green. And what would I do if I’m the Warriors? I would include him in the trade. So, I’ll send them Draymond and I hate giving up the young kid, but James Wiseman for Ben Simmons.”
“Now I have Simmons play the role that Draymond has been playing. The playmaker, the great defender. He can be in the dunker’s spot when he’s not moving the ball.”
In or Out on Ben Simmons working in Golden State?
“The Warriors are going to be good next season if they added Richard Simmons! … But Ben Simmons is a younger, better version of Draymond Green. If I’m the Warriors I want to put Draymond in the trade.” — @Chris_Broussard pic.twitter.com/xHaTJUvgCp

The fit would be great for the Warriors but neither team would ever think about pulling off a trade like this. The Sixers have made it clear that they’re looking for Dame or Beal in a trade for Simmons while the Warriors, well, they simply would not trade Green.
