"You Was a Drunk": Tossing His Appreciation for Charles Barkley Aside, $4,000,000 Worth NBA Player's Father Attacks Inside the NBA Host

LaVar Ball’s recent interview with Vlad TV revealed a range of information about how he sees the NBA world and some of its major characters. Speaking about TNT’s ‘Inside the NBA’ host Charles Barkley, LaVar claimed that Chuck was not a “family man” as he claimed and showed himself to be. Instead, Ball claimed that he was a gambler and a drunk back during his playing days.

LaVar went on to talk about how Chuck talks more about his pet dog than his own family on TV. Despite liking his game and calling him his favorite player from the 90s, LaVar claimed that Charles Barkley was only pretending to be “somebody now.”

Chuck had claimed on Inside the NBA that LaVar was a bit too embroiled in his sons’ careers. He went on to call LaVar Ball an idiot, which LaVar seemingly chalked down to him being a real family man, according to AL

LaVar Ball accused Charles Barkley of trying to buddy up behind the cameras

LaVar initially said that Charles Barkley was his favorite player. This was because he was fond of the way Chuck played the game. The following is what he said on Vlad TV.

“He used to be my favorite player growing up, till he started talking foolish. I ain’t looked up to him. But I liked him coz he was lightskinned, strong, and played wild. That’s why I like his game.”

However, he went on to claim that Chuck had started talking foolishly ever since he started appearing on TV. Talking about his playing days, LaVar claimed that Chuck was not a family man like he claimed to be, and was merely a gambler and a drunk instead.

“You know, but when you get on TV you start talking about, talking about how he is an idiot. Tell me nothing about family because you don’t know nothing about family. You got a daughter, on TNT, you talking about your dogs boo ho. You ain’t talking about your wife or your damn kid, you ain’t no family guy. He was a drunk back in the day and a gambler. So, don’t tell me about the bad things that you have done, and act like you are somebody now. You ain’t that dog.”

What’s more, it seems as if Chuck had tried to shake LaVar’s hand back when Lonzo used to play for the LA Lakers. Speaking about a particular incident in 2016, LaVar said that he simply walked past Barkley:

“When I was with the Lakers. He tried to come and shake my hand. And I look through him like glass, I wouldn’t shake his hand. I walk right by him like, ‘No, man, on the camera, you going to talk crazy but behind the camera, we supposed to be buddies. I’ll never connect with Charles Barkley.”

Needless to say, the latest comments are bound to annoy Chuck. As an analyst, there are times when he ends up saying things that are not well-received. However, even taking that into consideration, LaVar seems to have crossed a line or two in the recent interview.

LaVar Ball took shots at Charles Barkley for sleeping on the set

Earlier in July, Barkley had claimed that he habitually takes naps while watching live games in the TNT studio. Both Shaq and Chuck are known to regularly sleep when off camera, something the latter claimed was due to some games being “too boring”, according to Basketball Network.

The revelation brought forth a response from LaVar Ball as well, who claimed that he didn’t live a life that was driven by money, like Barkley. LaVar said that he himself slept whenever he wanted to, unlike Barkley, who seemed to be taking naps during his work.

Regardless, the latest comments have not yet been responded to by Chuck, who can be expected to air his thoughts in the coming time as well.
