Udonis Haslem Rejected $33,000,000 to Accommodate LeBron James in Miami: “Sign Him! Whatever’s Left Over, I’ll Sign”

There aren’t many across the NBA community that do not love Udonis Haslem. This is the man that is constantly on the Heat’s sidelines, egging his team on during every game. No, he isn’t a coach or an assistant of any kind. No, he is technically still a player. However, whenever he does take the court now… let’s just say the unfortunate takes place.

Give that man a break. He is 42 years old already. Even LeBron James would likely have some problems getting up at that age. Speaking of the King though, recently, he received word that Udonis Haslem would be in the final NBA game of his career. And just like that, he joined up with the likes of Dwyane Wade and so many more in making a little tribute video for the man. And suffice it to say, it is something you’d definitely want to see.

LeBron James calls Udonis Haslem the heartbeat of the Miami Heat

Whether it be during his prime years in the NBA, or during more recent times, Haslem has always demonstrated a level of hype for his teammates to get behind. You see, the biggest, and perhaps even only reason the Heat keep wanting him back so bad is because of the kind of locker room presence he is. His leadership is beyond measure.

So, he is understandably a beloved figure in Miami. In fact, he has been that for a long, long time. And paying a tribute to it, ahead of his final NBA game, here are LeBron James, and some former and current Heat players. Take a look at the clip in the tweet below.

“You’re the Heartbeat of Miami, man!”

This video frankly couldn’t be any more heart-wrenching. After all, Haslem has been a part of the NBA for so long now, it’s hard to imagine that he is now leaving. Riding off into the sunset, after years of hard work, and a job very well done. Frankly, the only thing the Heat can do now to further honor him, is win a championship in the near future.

What did Udonis Haslem average over the course of his career?

In 20 years, and 878 games, Udonis Haslem averaged 7.5 points, 6.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists, 0.5 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game. He shot 48.9% from the field, 9.4% from three, and 75.6% from the free-throw line.
