Aaron Rodgers and Davante Adams

Davante Adams cemented himself amongst the elite after putting up video game numbers on his way to being named an All-pro in 2020. But with Adams heading into the final year of his contract, and Aaron Rodgers very possibly leaving Green Bay, Adams may not be around in Wisconsin come 2022.

Adams, caught 115 passes for 1,374 yards and 18 touchdowns last season in the final year of a four-year, $58 million deal. The Adams-Rodgers became arguably the best QB-WR duo in 2020 and led the Packers to another NFC Championship game.

But with the public dispute between Rodgers and the Packers, Rodgers could be out the door. And so could Adams.

Davante Adams will do some “extra thinking” if Aaron Rodgers is not a Packer

In an interview with Colin Cowherd on Monday, the 28-year-old All-Pro wide receiver spoke candidly about the situation involving the three-time MVP. Adams said that he supports his quarterback “100 per cent” but did reveal that he might reconsider his own future with the Packers if Rodgers did leave Green Bay.

“Potentially. Potentially,” Adams said on The Herd. “He’s my guy. That’s the only guy I’ve had other than that 2017 season when he got hurt. That’s the only guy that I’ve played with. We’ve built up a special connection over the years that has put us both in really good positions in our career. Not that he needed me to come along for it, because he was already in that spot.

“We’ve established a lot together. It would change a lot, man. It doesn’t mean I’d be gone, but I’d definitely have to do some extra thinking if my guy wasn’t here. A lot is still being figured out on his end, so it’s tough for me to get into the specifics and speak on it,” Adams said.

“Obviously, I would love to. Can’t wait until I can tell you he’s back and we’re back doing our thing we’ve been doing. But for now, you’ve got to iron out a few things. Hopefully, I’ll be back on the show and we’ll be celebrating taking shots and whatnot.”

Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers obviously have a very close relationship. So it will be very interesting to see what Adams does if Rodgers does end up leaving Green Bay in 2021.
