“He destroys linebackers within seconds. It’s gonna be good.” Former Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker believes Anthony Firkser will have a breakout season in 2021.
The Titans propelled themselves into the AFC contention after they added Julio Jones to an 11-5 roster. And even though the Titans are already considered elite on offense, Delanie Walker they believe might be a lot better than the world thinks.
The Titans have had a solid Tight End Core for the better part of the last decade. Delanie Walker racked up 4 straight 800+ yard seasons and was named to consecutive Pro Bowls. And when he went down with an injury, Jonnu Smith took over the spot and became one of the NFL’s elite TE’s.
The Titans lost Jonnu Smith to free agency, but having landed Julio Jones, the team would not be worried about receiving talent on the roster. Jones along with A.J. Brown will be one of the best-receiving duos in the NFL. However, Walker believes Anthony Firkser will make be the Titans special weapon.

Delanie Walker has high expectations for Anthony Firkser
Anthony Firkser will be entering his 4th season with the Tennessee Titans, and Delanie Walker believes Firkser has what it takes to be one of the best and the talent around him to be sensational in 2021.
“He sat under me for years and I tried to teach him everything I know, but the dude got wiggles. He can get open, he can catch the ball. I think he going to be elite,” former Titans tight end Delanie Walker said recently on the Talking w/TD podcast with Turron Davenport.
“Just adding Julio it’s gonna open, have more opportunities for him. Over the middle. With matchups against linebackers. And that’s gonna be hard for them to cover him, cause he destroys linebackers within seconds. It’s gonna be good.”
“I feel like it’s going to be a good year for him,” Walker said. “I’m excited. I hope he does well, cause I want him to get paid. That’s what it comes down to. Just hope he does well. I know he built his confidence over the years.”
“Now he has that opportunity to be the starter. I told him the last time I saw him, I said it’s your opportunity, don’t lose it. Cause they don’t give it to many people often. He has the opportunity to be great. And I think with Julio and A.J. Brown and Derrick Henry, that opportunity is high.”
