Brock Purdy, Jalen Hurts

The NFC Championship game will take place on Sunday and all eyes will be on Philadelphia as Jalen Hurts and Brock Purdy take the center stage. The duo has come on top in the very recent past as a lot of reasons had kept them from the field throughout the season.

Jalen Hurts, the more experienced of the two, joined the NFL in 2020 whereas Brock Purdy is in his rookie season. The 49ers drafted him this year.

Brock Purdy has been the surprise package in this season’s NFL scenario. With the 49ers losing out on Jimmy Garoppolo in the latter half of the season and Trey Lance at the start, Brock Purdy stepped up. He was initially the third string until the 49ers chose him to be the lead signal caller.

Jalen Hurts meanwhile has been QB1 on the Eagles. The young QB has made his presence felt in Philadelphia and has done it in style.

Jalen Hurts vs Brock Purdy: What can one expect?

Jalen Hurts has definitely had a longer career than Brock Purdy. Meanwhile, Purdy’s season career has been his entire playing career given he is a rookie. Jalen Hurts has thrown for 3701 yards in 2022. He has made 22 touchdown passes while being picked just 6 times in the process. He has managed these numbers with a completion percentage of 66.5%. This has been the best of his three seasons in the NFL. Eagles fans have a lot to look forward to with him.

Throughout his career, he has had 44 touchdown passes and has been intercepted 19 times. His 22 touchdowns this season show his exponential growth, given he has made half of his career numbers just in one season.

Brock Purdy, meanwhile, has a similar pass completion percentage. He has a 67.1% success rate. In his 9 games, he has completed 114 of an attempted 170 passes. He has thrown for 13 touchdowns and defenses intercepted him 4 times. He also has 1 rushing touchdown to his name. Jalen Hurts has become the boss of rushing TDs. He has a total of 26 of those, with 13 coming this season itself. He also has close to 2000 rushing yards compared to Purdy’s 13.

Though the numbers and Philadelphia’s form favor the Eagles, the 49ers aren’t far behind. Brock Purdy vs Jalen Hurts will be a game to watch as they compete for a Superbowl spot. Purdy also has more to fight for, as he will look to make a point as a starter for the next season.
