There are other females who are making a name for themselves as well. Jennifer King is the coaching intern for the Washington Football Team. Her responsibilities will be similar to those of Katie Sowers, the San Francisco 49ers offensive assistant who in February became the first woman to coach in the Super Bowl. For instance, She now has her own office and has an unofficial role as an assistant running backs coach.
Callie Brownson also made history earlier this year. She became the first female chief of staff in the NFL. On February 1st 2020, the Browns named her the Chief of Staff for head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Hence, Sarah Thomas will definitely continue to play a major role in the NFL. She is on par to be the official for numerous other games throughout the 2020 NFL season, and hopefully the postseason as well. Through the years, we will definitely see more female officials and coaches joining teams and bringing along their talents as well.
