Tom Brady Golf Match Date: When is Brady's Golf Game with Aaron Rodgers, Phil Mickelson, and Bryson DeChambeau

Tom Brady will once again play in CapitalOne’s “The Match” this year. The star-studded charity game will definitely attract a lot of attention, from NFL and golf fans alike.

This year will be the 4th edition of the event, and it will feature Brady and his teammate, Phil Mickelson, playing together for the second time.

The duo, one of them the oldest QB to win a Super Bowl and the other the oldest to win a major golf championship, will take on another NFL-Golfer pair. Their opponents this year are Packers QB Aaron Rodgers and golf phenom Bryson DeChambeau, who are actually the favorites.

We’ll see Tom Brady and co at Moonlight Basin in Big Sky, Montana on July 6th. The group are expected to tee-off at 5pm ET and the event will be broadcasted on TNT.

Format for “The Match” 2o21

Given that the game features both golf pros and football players, the rules have been modified slightly. According to The Line, this is how the match will look.

  • Tee Shots – professionals will tee off from rear tees, football players will tee of from forward tees
  • Best Ball Off The Tee – each team will have the option to choose which tee shot to play its second shot from
  • Alternate Shot – once each team chooses which tee shot to play, teammates will alternate shots until the ball is holed
  • Match Play Scoring – best score wins the hole, tied holes are halved with no carryover
  • Winner – play continues until one team is up more holes than are remaining; if tied after 18 holes, sudden death

Tom Brady Takes Aim at Opponents Ahead of The Match

There has been a good bit of back-and-forth between the 2 teams. It’s all in good spirit of course, considering they’re doing it simply to promote the event which is for a good cause.

In particular, Brady has been active on Twitter and, even at his age, actually posting memes. It’s because of things like this that neutral NFL fans are much more supportive of “Tampa Tom” than they were of Patriots Brady.
