"Not a Test match": Chris Gayle mocks Yuvraj Singh's slow innings in Bushfire Bash

Chris Gayle mocks Yuvraj Singh’s slow innings: The Universe Boss seems to have wanted the former Indian all-rounder to score quickly.

During the one-off Bushfire Relief Match between Ponting XI and Gilchrist XI at the Junction Oval on the last Sunday, Gilchrist XI all-rounder Yuvraj Singh failed to generate an impact with the bat in hand.

Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the fourth over while chasing a 105-run target in a 10-over encounter, the southpaw didn’t find his timing at all. Having scored 2 (6), Yuvraj’s innings didn’t rewind the clock for his fans unlike the likes of Ricky Ponting, Brian Lara, Sachin Tendulkar and Adam Gilchrist.

Yuvraj was a part of a batting collapse which saw Gilchrist XI losing the match by 1 run after a hilarious last-ball drama in Melbourne.

Yuvraj walked back to the pavilion in the fifth over after after mis-timing a Brett Lee delivery to Alex Blackwell at long-on. With bowling figures of 2-0-11-2, Lee was the pick of the bowlers for his team.

After captain Adam Gilchrist won the toss and chose to field, Ponting XI posted a formidable 104/5 in their allotted quota of 10 overs.

Coming in to bat at No. 5 in the seventh over, former West Indies captain Brian Lara top-scored with 30 (11) with the help of three fours and two sixes.

Gayle, who is a close companion of Yuvraj, took to his Instagram handle to troll Yuvraj with respect to his slow innings. “Come on Yuvi…it’s not a Test match. Chip and drive Brett Lee,” wrote Gayle in his Instagram story.

“Noooooooo,” Gayle posted another story when Yuvraj was dismissed.
