With looming talks of a WrestleMania for the star, the injury curse has struck yet again with the veteran rumored to be next on the injury pile.

The Lucha appeared for the promotion NorthWest Wrestling in Waterbury, Connecticut. Mysterio was involved in a tag team match alongside Flip Gordon against Joey Mercury and Caleb Konley.

Mysterio suffered the blow during the match, which he instantly informed Joey Mercury between the bout. The finish was set up quickly as the high flyer hit his signature 619 and a splash off the top rope to finish the contest.

The star was seeing favoring his arm as soon as the match ended and backstage reports reveal that heavy swelling was observed in his left arm. The injury is rumored to be a torn bicep, which requires 4 months to recover including the rehab period.

Mysterio recently signed with the NJPW and was on course for yet another WWE appearance after his surprise entry at the Royal Rumble in January.

The Mexican was present backstage during last week’s SmackDown where the details of his rumored WrestleMania clash with “The Cenation Leader” John Cena was discussed. Prior to that, Mysterio also marked his presence during WWE’s Live event in his hometown of San Diego.

The injury will mark a huge blow if it is as worse as it sounds. This will definitely rule Mysterio out for WrestleMania which means that the quest for John Cena’s opponent for WrestleMania continues with The Undertaker’s status still unknown much to the envy of the WWE Universe.

Let’s hope that the Luchador has a speedy recovery and returns back stronger than ever. Watch this space for more WWE content!
