RR vs KKR 2019

RR vs KKR 2019: The Sportsrush presents before you three intriguing player battles ahead of the 21st match of IPL 2019.

The Rajasthan Royals had gotten off to a horrific start losing their first 3 matches on the trot. They made a strong comeback by defeating RCB at Jaipur. They have always looked good but have been unable to win crucial moments. They need to get these 2 points and maintain their winning momentum else it might be too difficult to catch up later.

Knight Riders, bolstered by Andre Russell’s form, have been able to pull off some unbelievable chases. However, they need their bowlers to take up more responsibility and also need their batting order to not get complacent and reply on Russell always. KKR are in a strong position and they would like to maintain that in a bid to make their path to the playoffs smooth.

Shreyas Gopal vs Chris Lynn

Leggie Shreyas Gopal had an unbelievably good match against the RCB when he managed to pick up the big wickets of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. He would look to carry on his form and one of his primary targets is bound to be Chris Lynn.

Lynn has mostly struggled against spin but has really worked on it. He managed to literally send Chahal’s ball out of the stadium. However, he also lost his wicket to another spinner, Pawan Negi. Hence, it would be interesting to see if Gopal gets the better of Lynn or we see some Lynnsanity against young Gopal.

Jos Buttler vs Piyush Chawla

Buttler has been in scintillating form in this year’s IPL. However, one thing that would bother him is his form against leg spinners. He has been dismissed twice in 4 innings by leggies. Chawla, who is expected to bowl in the powerplay overs, would have noticed this and must be fancying his chances to get the danger man out as soon as possible.

Chawla has the habit of regularly picking wickets and Buttler needs to be wary of that and come out with proper strategy. Who comes out on top will be exciting to see.

Jofra Archer vs Andre Russell

Archer has been bowling very efficiently in the IPL so far. He has been especially good in the death overs for the Royals. However, this time, a certain Andre Dwayne Russell might be the one facing Archer in the death overs.

Will Kolkata’s hero be able to negate the Jofra threat and go about his business as usual? Or will Jofra do a Rabada and dish out some vicious yorkers to get the better of the Jamaican brute? We can only wait and find out.
