One of the greatest to ever lace on a pair of wrestling boots, Shawn Michaels is right up there among the all-time greats.

At his peak, ‘the Showstopper’ was easily the best wrestler in the world, as Michaels made a career of putting on outstanding matches. His matches against Bret Hart, Triple H, Kurt Angle and Undertaker are right up there among the annals of WWE history.

It has been eight years Shawn retired from the ring, and unlike other wrestlers, he did not come back for one match. The great man left on his own terms, and has respected his decision to never wrestle again, something that makes his unique in the wrestling industry.

But if there was ever a wrestler who deserved to have a match with HBK, it has be AJ Styles. Barely two years into the company, AJ has solidified his status as a main event star on the roster, and has become the main main at Smack Down LIVE.

Arguably the greatest wrestler of all time, Ric Flair has even gone as far as calling AJ the Shawn Michaels of this generation, which is as high a praise as one can get from ‘the Nature Boy’.

And now we hear the AJ had pitched the idea of match with Shawn, but was shot down by the veteran wrestler.

“He [Michaels] said no. I’m not doing it. But being in the ring with someone like Shawn Michaels or the Undertaker and being able to learn from those guys will be a blessing. I would love to be in the ring with Shawn Michaels. Similar size, similar styles and to be in the ring with someone like that and all the knowledge he has. It would be a classic.”

AJ also spoke about Jinder Mahal and run that he has had with the company.

“Jinder is doing great. He has everything that he has got here. Looks like a star, acts like a star. That’s why he is one. He is perfect for the WWE, perfect for India.

“He is great and to see him be the star and come along is really cool. This business is really tough and Jinder went through some tough times in this business and now to see him where he is after all the hard work he has put in, he deserves everything and he has earned everything in the WWE.”
