“Getting a Lot of Hate Just for Being…”: Jewish UFC Fighter, Who Called Out Kanye West, Opens Up About the Aftermath
Kanye West is one of the greatest artists of the 21st century. The stalwart following that the 45 year owns is unfathomable to begin with, and cannot be compared with. The American broke into the scene in the late 1990s, along with famed billionaire Jay-Z. The pair broke into mainstream media for their immaculate verses and songs that redefined the hip-hop industry heading into the 21st century.
As such when the rap icon speaks, people listen. However, it wouldn’t be an overstatement to state that as of late ‘Ye’ has lost sight of reality. The 21-time Grammy award-winning artist has come under scrutiny lately due to his conceivable opinions on a number of subjects.
The most prominent is his stance on anti-Semitism. It’s no secret that the Jewish community to this day is experiencing the lasting after-effects of the trauma and suffering their people had to go through during the second world war.
So, it’s understandable why the very mention of any race-related statements about them could trigger a sentiment that cannot be fathomed. Kanye West, nonetheless, disregarded their sentiment to this and proceeded to throw hail Mary on the community.
It’s the primary reason that the 45-year-old has lost the majority of his endorsements over the past couple of months. However, a Jewish UFC fighter named Natan Levy took an exception to the comments made by West and has reverted back to him.
Natan Levy retorts to disputed figure Kanye West!
UFC lightweight prospect Natan Levy has fired back at Kanye West, in light of his antisemitism remarks aimed at the Jewish community. Born in Herzliya, Israel, Levy didn’t take too kindly to West’s comments and reverted back to the artist, asking for a fight.
Following his win this past weekend against Genaro Valdez, Levy made his feelings clear to Ye stating–
“Kanye West, if you’ve got a problem with me or my people, come see me, bro.”
The 31-year-old spoke to TMZ earlier this week, divulging the ramifications of his retirement to Kanye West’s comments.
Levy began-
“My interview, most of the comments are antisemitic. Most of the comments say, ‘Hey, look, actually I think Kanye is right. I’m always getting a lot of hate just for being who and what I am, which I’m fine with. It’s not fun, but right now I’m getting more. I’m also getting a lot of love. There is also a lot of positive out there. I’m getting a lot of love. A lot of reinforcement. I’m getting a lot of friends, a lot of people who speak up. Post the video and share it and saying ‘stop the hate.'”
It’s good to know that in a harsh and cruel world, there are still some genuine souls left that show their love and admiration for others.
What’s next for Natan Levy?
A ‘Dana White: Contender Series’ alumni, Levy has made quite a name for himself since he stepped foot into the UFC octagon. The 31-year-old has emerged as a rising prospect despite being 31 years of age.
The skillset possessed by the Israeli is phenomenal and he will no doubt garner more attention in his upcoming fights given his style of fighting and personality.
