Sean Strickland Earnings: How Much Money Did the UFC Champion Make in His Last Fight?

Sean Strickland is not one to shy away from controversy. The 31-year-old is slated for a fight against Jared Cannonier in the main event of the final fight card of the year.  Strickland was last seen in UFC 276 back in July. The event is remembered fondly amongst mixed martial arts supporters unfortunately to Strickland’s dismay.

The number 7 ranked 185lbs contender was brutally knocked out in the first round by the eventual UFC Middleweight champion, Alex Perreira. The American has once again been awarded a golden opportunity at getting back into the title picture, by competing against ‘The Killa Gorilla’.

And in typical Strickland fashion, the former Welterweight captivated the attention of the media and supporters when he arrived for media day.

Sean Strickland makes a hysterical and facetious comparison.

On Wednesday, Sean Strickland arrived for his obligatory media appearances prior to his fight. While promoting his main event encounter with Cannonier, Strickland made sure to convey his insightful thoughts to the media regarding the standing of UFC athletes.

In his own contentious way, Strickland drew comparisons between UFC martial artists and adult movie stars.

Strickland said:

“P*rn stars. What’s the difference? We f—ng diet, we get really f—ng skinny. A couple of us get abs. We wear these tight little outfits, little f—ng spandex, with our little c*ck bulge and our cup. And we go out there, we take our f—ng clothes off, and fight in front of thousands of people.

He continued:

“Then these people are like, ‘yeah, f—ng punch him in the face! Take him down! F—ng dry hump him! Twist his dick!’”

To be fair to the generally conceiving Strickland, that analogy is pretty fair. Considering the fact that every martial artist that signs a contract with the UFC has limited opportunities and potential outside the promotion. One day hopefully, for the betterment of the fighters, this will change!

I guess as long as they’re getting paid their worth, that means might be justified. Oh wait!

Is Sean Strickland gearing up for a title shot?

Given that the landscape of the 185lbs division has shifted, courtesy of the astounding upset by Alex Perreira, the American might just be on the verge of being awarded a title shot, provided he can put Cannonier away in spectacular fashion.

The Middleweight mainstay will have to put on a clinic at the expense of Canonnier. If he approaches the fight like he did Poatan, he’s in for a terrible surprise.

The 31-year-old was on the cusp of obtaining a title shot when his defense and ambition knew no bounds. Strickland let his guard down and was clipped with Poatan’s patented left hook to the jaw, thereby suffering the repercussions of his actions.
