‘Charles Oliveira is still a P****’: Dan Hooker is not willing to give props to Charles Oliveira for beating Tony Ferguson at UFC 256
Dan Hooker gives his take on the result of Charles Oliveira Vs. Tony Ferguson, and opines that he did not witness anything special in Charles Oliveira’s performance.
Charles Oliveira, who made a huge statement in front of matchmakers by beating Tony Ferguson at UFC 256, and thereby announced himself at the title scene, is getting recognition from all corners of the MMA circuit. However, one of his peers Dan Hooker is seemingly not impressed with his performance and hence did not find his victory extraordinary.
Hooker, who is currently ranked 6 in the Lightweight division, is apparently going to fight again soon. And to discuss this he sat for an interview with Submission Radio. Where he chiefly discussed this topic but also had words to convey when asked about Charles Oliveira’s dominant display.
“He didn’t do anything amazing’
In the interview, Dan Hooker revealed he has accepted his next fight but did not disclose the name of the opponent. And on a different notion when he was asked whether Oliveira could be the one who could give Khabib Nurmagmedov a challenge. He frivolously disagreed and said, “Charles Oliveira is still a p****.”
The Kiwi fighter also expressed his view on Do Bronx’s dominant show against Tony Ferguson and said it wasn’t anything out of the ordinary.
“He didn’t do anything amazing. He just did some basic like fundamental stuff to Tony Ferguson and Tony Ferguson had no real answer for it.
“To me, he just hadn’t been drilling his fundamentals for a while. And that’s it’s a game of improving your fundamentals and working on them. So, it’s just to me just the way I saw it. It’s not like I was so impressed with the amazing stuff that Charles Oliveira was doing.”
